Accounting for Rogers full fee allows them to exit the UEFA sanction agreement early, which allows them to actually take advantage of their increased revenues. Jackson is recorded as a book profit for us, regardless.Maybe @terraloon can translate G3.5 and 3.7 into English for the rest of us?The swap-deal rule is so dumb. It won't be long before an EU player or agent challenges it after a prospective move falls through because the clubs can't afford the FFP hit. Hard to see how it is not a restriction of trade by effect.

It’s gobbledygook! One thing I will say is I am far from sure that you are right, or come to that wrong, when it comes to your comment re any potential issue re Jackson
August 17Aug 17 Apparently Watkins has agreed to join Al Hilal.Guess we'll now start to hear more on Jackson. Don't know about the implications of the Garnacho and Rogers deals, but I think we won't have any problem loaning Jackson there with a mandatory buy option for next summer if a transfer can't be made now because of those swap rules or whatever they are called. August 18Aug 18 Don’t get me wrong, it’s very good of the Saudi clubs to give several clubs millions and millions for their players, clearly doing us a favour. But I just find their involvement so f**king irrelevant. It’s almost like Gateshead FC have suddenly offered 45m for Ollie Watkins. Their league is irrelevant, their clubs are irrelevant, they have no history or rivalry with any of the clubs over here. They just appeared and suddenly they’re taking players away from European football.I mean look at Neymar. They took his twilight years away from us when he was only 31. It would have been far more interesting to see how he would’ve done at Napoli or even Newcastle?

I know its obscene money, but they are already on obscene money. If someone in Saudi offered to triple my salary I'd be there before sunset, but thays because trippling my salary would be life changing. It would still only bring me to what most of these guys earn in England per week, let alone per year. I get football careers are short, but they all earn enough to set generations of their family up for life
August 20Aug 20 In the same way they move to USA or Turkey... Outside of EU tax law, do two years in these places and there are benefits or something. M finance friends told me about the loophole on why Wazza rooney went to the states all those years ago. Turkey, well, they're so hard up for cash that they are offering residency and tax-free living if you move your money across to their banking system (Salah et all)... Its pretty much all about tax avoidance.
August 20Aug 20 I don’t see Napoli pulling up the money, if Villa sell Watkins and Konsa with other deals they will have plenty of money to play with and not need to worry about the Roger’s and Jackson deals being considered a swap that’s if they didn’t sign paper work before the announcement for that reason. Do we need the cash injection now or just lower our amortisation costs? There is talk of Tosin going there to cover Konsa could that deal be the swap or would both? Not sure how it works.I still think we have more chance of getting the money we want from Villa than Napoli. Edited August 20Aug 20 by C3blue

They need to get their financial house in order before they start spending. Their fundamental problem is marketing, they've neglected areas like commercial partners, revenue beyond prize money and player sales.

Rumours of 40% sell on fee too. Feel sorry for Strasbourg but Mudryk on loan might cheer them up

Something fishy for sure !
