coco
Billy Boy Sympathy Thread Feeling for Billy tonight, must be a lonely world at the moment. He had a glorious 5 years with us. And I wont forget him for that. Hope your luck turns round for you Billy, and hopefully you'll go to Italy (like you should of done 2 years ago) and have some success to finish off your career. loz
Can't say I have too much sympathy for him. Quite probably the most technically gifted defender that the Premiership has seen for many a year but all of that mean nothing when you have the attitude of the average 11 year old boy after getting beaten around an assault course on his own bike. His career has spanned three major clubs, each one of them he has thrown his toys out of the pram and left (assuming he will leave Arsenal in the near future) under a dark cloud and all along he picks up the kind of salary which would persuade most human being to do favours for sailors on a 24*7 basis!! So I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

jack h
He was great while he was with us and our club turned him into the best defender in the league......then wenger ruined him. I have no sympathy for him though i think it's hilarious watching him make L'arse self destruct

WoodmanBlue
Was a great defender for us, not one of us could argue with that. Did he spit in our faces with the whole "i wont play for you" even tho Jose wanted to keep him - yes Do i feel Sympathy for him - Neva The guy has made his bed, now he must lie in it! He is not a professional, he is a quality player who doesn't know how to control himself publicly. I would liked to have seen him try an make those sort of statements whilst at Chelsea, JT woulda given him a reality slap. That is the prob, at Arse there is no one more experience than him. He deserves everything he gets!!! f**k off Gallas!!! f**k off Gallas!!!
The Brit
maybe the gallas cole swap is making even more sense...remember the arse fans getting all cocky after the deal, well maybe it was all part of our cunning plan to ensure the arse continued their decline...as a defender he has not come close to the form he showed for us and as a problem in the dressing room, he's been even worse...well done willy...good job

Tim W
Gallas was a great player for us, period. Personally I've never met him and do not know him so I won't judge his character. I rarely believe what papers write so until either Gallas or Wenger comment on the TV I reserve my judgment. If I were to say anything it would be is Drogba any better? If I were to say anything it would be is Drogba any better? well yes. because i cant remember drogba ever refusing to play or threatening to score an own goal. as good a player as he was, the day i heard about gallas refusing to play was the day he lost any respect i had for him.he deserves all the crap he gets. loz
Wenger made two massive mistakes with Gallas 1. (The obvious one) Made him captain 2. (The one people will probably mock me for) Let Senderos go out on loan. Of all the players Wenger has at his disposal to partner Gallas with, Senderos was the one who I think would have made the best partnership for Arsenal. OK Drogba gave him a torrid time but he was still very young and inexperienced then. I don't think he is that bad a centre half - I don't think he is fabulous but I do think the Arsenal back line would have been much stronger this season if Gallas and Senderos had been their centre half pairing. icecoolguy22
What sympathy? He had a good thing going with us and threw it all away, scored a goal against us last season which cost our title. Ashley Cole turned out to be pretty good for us. I hope Wenger stick with him for another 5 years :P
PloKoon13
I feel sympathy for Arsene for swapping arguably the best left-back around at the moment for a prat... ...not that Cashley is that nice of a fella from what I've heard, mind... evissy
Gallas is no leader. We knew that when he still played for us. Gallas' persona isn't fit to lead a team. The ability to moan about things isn't synonym for leader. He was falsly given the captaincy in Arsenal and look at where it led. He is the most experienced player in Arsenal but is that really the reason to give him that armband. At the moment the Gallas-Cole swap is working really well for us. Cole is probably the best in his spot in England but even we have 3 or 4 better centerbacks than Gallas has lately been.

Kerry
Given the fact that Chelsea has more than enough good central defenders in the row all jumping onto the feet of each other (and given the fact that Ivanovic being a great defender but wanting to quit in January because he gets more playing time in his national team than in his club) and given the fact that in this constellation our wonder newcomer Mancienne will have to battle hard for a place - well then it's rather difficult to have sympathy with a ... er ... French Iroquois!
