As we play 4-3-3, take it as that, not "I'd have a 4-4-2" as we simply don't play that anymore (as a plan A). I've assumed Cole would be your first choice, hence asking who you think his partner should be. If not, say.

I don't think either are up to the task, if we need something in January its a wide attacking player, but for the sake of now, I've gone for Malouda... I don't rate him, but Kalou hasn't done anything to suggest he's improving to get to the standard required to play every week.

EDIT: Bugger can't add a poll, the options were meant to be Kalou and Malouda :(

Malouda for me, Frustrating sometimes but working harder than he used to and more dangerous of late than Kalou who has really gone backwards of late.

I would still rather have kept SWP but as you say this is for now.

Good question Gem,

To be honest, I was really hoping that Kalou would break into the team regularly this year, as well as Mikel, but so far I've only been half right! I also feel that Malouda comes under some really unfair criticism at times, but he can be frustrating.

Joe Cole so far this season hasn't exactly shown that he is a nailed down starter either, but he's certainly capable of providing moments of magic more than the other two. I also feel that Kalou is more of a secondary striker as opposed to a wide player so we are not playing to his strengths, therefore I'd have to say Cole and Malouda

Scott

Malouda for me however I must say that it is a case of the lesser of two evils.

Both atrocious in front of goal but I think Malouda's passing is slightly better than Kalou and is therefore a little more likely to create something.

I'm sure almost everyone on here would want Scott over those too, but if I add him to the poll I may as well add Messi and Kaka as it'll turn into a fantasy poll rather than a realistic one. I'm aware (as Loz has said) it's selecting the lesser of 2 evils, but at the moment that's all that's going to happen. I'd like Scott to get his chance as neither Malouda or Kalou have done anything this season to suggest they are up to the standard.

Can't get a poll right, Gem!?

Robinho for me, he seems to have settled in well. As the rumor mill goes, Scollari still wants him and might make an offer in January.

Maluda has been working harder - but obviously he doesn't have a right side to his brain.

Essien come back !

I would prefer us trying to play with two center forwards as Bosingwa and A.Cole could play the 1-2 game with either Lampard, Deco or Joey(in more central role).

As it is not going to happen I have to choose Malouda although I don't like a poll where Joey would be the permanent starter. The guy don't know how to play two good games in a row not to mention more than two. Malouda is lot better passer than Joey is, don't murder me but that is what I think. Joey is far better taking on defenders but that only happens once or twice in 5 games or something like that. Only Bosingwa is a player who can cross the ball that is certain.

Neither two are Chelsea first team material.

This is the problem. They are too unreliable, too inconsistant.

Robinho should have been brought in, we sold SWP on the strength of his arrival, I'd sooner kept SWP if we'd known Robinho wasn't coming. Hindsight - I know, last minute and all that, but his name should have been down on paper long before the Arabs strolled into town!

A complete pre-season shambles.

I blame Kenyon (a passing joke on this site, I kjnow) But I seriously do!

Every time we draw a blank Robinho seems to score for City - oh the irony.

and my answer would be play Wayne Bridge as an advanced left midfielder, cos I've just about had enough of the pair of'em

I may be in a minority here but I'm yet to see anything from Sinclair to suggest he'll be an improvement over Kalou or Malouda.

The problem is, they're both poor. Malouda has more experience and composure but he's so distinctly average at everything it's mind boggling how he managed to make a name for himself. Kalou has been living in that "good potential, may one day become a top player" phase far too long, imo. I'm afraid this is as good as he is ever going to get.

I tend to be in agreement abramovich. Sinclair has promised a lot this past couple of seasons and I feel if he was good enough he would surely have dislodged Malouda. I know he maybe hasn't got a decent run in the team was us to make a good assesment but the management are seeing him day and daily and you wouldn;t think he'd have to show a whole lot to break into the team.

Although, I agree it is Joe plus A.N. Other, I think Joe is only a given for the first 11 by default, as he hasn't been that great, it's just that Kalou and Malouda have been so, so average. Of the two, I rate Kalou higher and think an on form Sala is more likely to unlock a Newcastle-esque defensive effort, but he really has done sod all this season.

I also have to say I was wrong about Robinho. He looks the real deal and has scored a very impressive number of quality goals. If only we had him on one flank and an in form Joe on the other, we would be a LOT more dangerous.
