I've gone for Ashley Cole, he hardly put a foot wrong all game (apart from one awful header in the first half). Good performances from Kalou & Anelka too.

Possibly the worst performance I've ever seen from Alex, he really looked as if he couldn't give a f*ck. And Joey really got on my tits tonight, his passing was woeful and then he'd blame the supposed recipient, and I'm also getting totally pissed off with the amount of times he waits for the ball to come to him, and then looking surprised when an opponent suddenly appears.

Close call between A Cole and Kalou for me but gave it to Kalou - good game all round, capped with a good goal and also assists.

I was gonna type exactly that, no real bad performances tonight, actually worth having the Poll.

Bosingwa's passing was absolutely horrible in the first half, but Alex really was the man to blame for Southend's goal. I don't know what was going on but other players seemed to shout angrily to Alex the next time we had to defend their corner and Alex seemed pretty pissed off.

Kalou was the man of the match for me. Looked lively and finished his goal well. Cech kept us in it with his save when we were 0-1 down.

Have to agree with the majority and vote for Kalou. There was a brief period when he swapped to the right wing where he seemed to disappear from the game and I said to my daughter we should maybe consider bringing Franco on in his place. WHat happens? He goes and scores! Therefore I claim the credit for tonights performance by the man from down the Ivory Coast who doesn't do drugs and crosses the ball in from the left to hit Arne Riise on the head and that's why we love some bloke called Kalou.

Kalou was the decisive player on the pitch so he gets my vote as well. Whenever he plays he scores. That is Kalou this season. He never moans and is always lively although have had bad games. Kalou has great teamspirit.

A.Cole can play on the wing with the winger but not Bosingwa IMO. Yesterday Joey and Bosingwa completely cancelled each other out. Bosingwa should play on the wing and Ivanovic as right back. Joey should take a more central role as Deco is out injured.

The way we defended was absolutely horrible. Alex was totally out of the game in the defensive part. He still is the biggest threat in the corners(attacking) but not really solid in the defence. Can't put Bosingwa and Alex side to side in defence. Actually I haven't seen Alex perform so poorly.

dammit, that was almost word for word what i was gonna post. but id also like to mention bosingwa`s crossing, can someone tell him if hes gonna cross a ball then id prefer him to do it near the byline not near the half way line. and just cross it, dont go to cross it, then not cross it, then go to cross it again, then not cross it.... then eventually put in one of them rubbish floaty things.

Bosingwa's crossing is indeed pretty f**king dire, like you said, get close to the byline and whip it in, or cut it back. Don't do floaty crosses from further back that are so embarrassingly easy to defend.

His crosses are not the problem. The problem is that it takes too long for him to reach the point where he would cross. Players waiting the cross in the box have already stopped their movement when the cross finally comes. Really easy for the opposition to defend.

There is usually two guys on him when he tries to advance so the pass to him needs to be lot quicker and possibly longer.
