Last Movie You Watched

Anyone got any decent movie tips for tonight? awful weather and mates are boring this Friday.

A good action drama, thriller or whatever is prefered!

Do you mean something that might be on at the cinema, or do you mean a DVD?

Django Unchained was great, if that's on near you, but I don't think it'll be out on DVD yet.

Not a recent film , but have you seen The Departed?  Leonard DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson.  I thought it was great.

Blimey!  That's amazing1

Good films from longer ago that you might not have seen:

Blade Runner

American Beauty - a Kevin Spacey - always good!

The Deerhunter

The Usual Suspects - but you must have seen that - wonderful!

Just seen Blade Runner out of all them, think I'll give The Usual Suspects a go, have not seen that one I believe!

Oh I'm so glad!  It is wonderful!  Pete Postlethwaite, Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne .  Let me know what you thought !

^ There's a new TV show starring Kevin Spacey called ”House of Cards”. Have you been watching it, Moi? I was thinking of giving it a shot but haven't done so yet.

No!  I didn't even know about it.  I bet it;'s on some channel you only get if you have an  expensive package!

I thought House of Cards was a political thriller on British telly - but certainly not with Kevin Spacey.  I must be mixing it up with something else.

The Departed is the best movie I've seen this week though, a left me with a few questions for those who have seen it:

:::::::::::::SPOILERS:::::::::::::::

The letter Costigan (DiCaprio) gives to Madolyn, whats in it? we never got to see that - I myself was thinking it could be the evidence he had on Sullivan in case something would happen to him but im not sure.. Also is it his baby Madolyn is having? Only got to see a sex scene between them two, never with Sullivan.

I don't like movies like this where we have to guess and stuff, inception!

I saw Renoir, last night, very artistic film as one would expect. Nevertheless, I left the cinema with a feeling something was lacking. I have an idea the translator (subtitles) did not manage to communicate the space between the words or the consequences of a rich language being translated into a sparse language. I await Moi's opinion.

MORE SPOILERS

Didn't Costigan give Madolyn the recordings of Costello and Sullivan, proving that he is the mole?

And I'm pretty sure we don't get told who's the baby is, she probably won't have known herself.

Just talking about it is making me want to watch it for the millionth time. Absolutely brilliant film.

Saw Iron Man 3 this weekend with the old lady, and it was OK.   Gwyneth Paltrow voted most beautiful by People Magazine?  Uhhh, that's a joke.  Could it be because Iron Man 3 came out this weekend and it helps but Iron Man 3 sell tickets and People Magazine sell mags?  Yeah!

Spent a day watching Ironman 1 &2, The avengers, and Captain America.. 3 very good films and 1 I wasn't so keen on being Captain America, I watched this after the Avengers so I must admit I was a tad disappointed with the film

House of Cards is a Netflix produced series, so it only features on that platform. For £6.00 a month though you can't complain. It's a spin-off from the original British production (with the same name) so you're not mixing it up.

All the shows I follow is currently on 1 ep per week or on a break.

Really not sure what I should watch, I guess im a few episodes after on Supernatural so probably start watching that once I get the time to do so.

I saw that at the weekend mainly because there wasn't much else on. I enjoyed it overall, although I felt it was overlong and lost interest during the requisite overblown finale.

As comic-book based movies go I thought it was one of the better ones. Definitely preferred it to Avengers, Thor, etc. Fast paced, witty script, a few great characters (especially Kingsley as the Mandarin"), and Robert Downey Jnr is also great as Robert Downey Jnr (since he's never in the Iron Man suit for more than 10 seconds before it gets smashed to pieces).

Saw The Angel's Share last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like Untouchable it has a great cast of characters and manages to be uplifting and funny at the same time.

The Angel's Share was wonderful!

Well I finally watched Black Swan with Natalie Portman... needless to say it will not appeal to everyone. It's sort of simultaneously disturbing and exhilarating.

Saw the new Star Trek movie the other night, it's pretty good, but not as good as the trailers would suggest.

From what I understand having read a few bits, you need to be a bit of a Trekky to get the whole story.
