Last day of the group matches.

This afternoon

Portugal v. Brazil

Cote D'Ivoire v. DPR Korea

This Evening

Chile v. Spain

Switzerland v. Honduras

Not much excitement this afternoon unless Ivory Coast can overturn a 10 goal deficit on their goal difference. In which case there would have been a hell of a lot of excitement!

This evening though could see the European Champions go the way of the World Champions and on the pedalo home.

A win for Switzerland and a draw or loss for Spain would do the trick. Not unthinkable given Chile's performances in qualifying and at the tournament.

Really can't wait for Portugal v Brazil, the ultimate showdown between the two sides that has played the more attractive football so far in the tournament.

Im expecting a 2-2 or a 2-3 score-line after 90 mins.

I really hope to god that Ivory Coast can score 10 or more goals aswell seeing how portugal scored 7, but I dont think it could ever happen and if it did it would be a miracle, a miracle im hoping for tbh!

I really expect Portugal to win. Not entirely because they trashed N-Korea but they have more in the game than Brazil. Great game in I'm sure. I'm thinking 2-2, 3-2.

........................................some useful stuff and a bit of fluffy comment and then ............................................. and on the pedalo home.

You wanna be careful, Ethical, that sort of talk is being deemed sexist in the Italian thread!

No, wait a minute, not sexist, RACIST! Sheeeeyit, I nearly cocked that one up. I think I got away with it though

I hope that the Ivory Coast can make it through, but their chances are extremely slim.

Brazil are already through, but I'm sure they'll want to avoid Spain in the next round, so they'll probably have to go for the win. I'm quite sure Switzerland will beat Honduras, so Spain will either go out or else end up first in their group.

Not sure if I want Spain to win actually. Great team perhaps, but I kinda like Chile and Switzerland.

Indeed , even the expression "cocked it up" is sexist in that it implies only men do so. You never hear anyone saying "she c**ted it up", do you? Men should protest at this sexist labelling.

And, no, Kev, you never get away with anything! Karma will catch up with you!

The Brazil-Portugal match is pretty scrappy, with a lot of pushing and shoving. Tiago was given a well-deserved yellow card for diving in the penalty area. Don't know why C.Ronaldo is continuing to shoot at goal from 40 yards out. I think I may switch over to the Cote-d"Ivoire match for the second half, if the Brazil match stays this way.

The players in the Brazil v Portugal game should be bloody ashamed, what a complete stitch up.

What a f**king shame of a match that was, bloody awful.

I Hope evenings matches will be a lot better, Chile v Spain should be a cracker but you never know with the WC.

why is anyone surprised? two solid defences against average attacks. niether side had a no.10 on the pitch so they were always going to produce that kind of a match. portugal particularly are not a great side. unless deco is fit and on form they are unable to play football. the days where they were packed with intelligent creative options are long gone.

i turned over to Ivory Coast v North Korea just after they went 2-0. the biggest surprise was that there was no further score before half time. like the Ivorians, i was hoping against hope that Brazil would put 2 or 3 past Portugal. well we all know how that went, so in the end the score and even the result was irrelevant. Ivory Coast had plenty of chances, especially in the first half, but lacked the killer instinct, and maybe a little lack of belief. who can blame them? even if Portugal had lost, they'd still have had a 9 or 10 goal difference to turn around.

which is a shame, because it would have been nice to have seen Drogba and Kalou in the knockout stages.

I thought the Ivory coast game was odd. They scored 2 early goals, looked capable of scoring a sh*t load more but then just seemed to suddenly stop trying for about half an hour. The way Korea were going Ivory Coast could quite easily have scored many more if they kept the pressure on, as it turned out it wouldnt have made a sh*te of difference but thought it was a bit odd.

Portugal 0 Brazil 0. Dunga is not playing the samba style football we were accustomed to seeing from Brazil. He has resorted to a more defensive oriented game and is using two defemsive midfielders. It results in more boring football but achieves the results he desires. Not a great game to watch. Both teams played uninspired football and were obviously content with the result.

The Chilian keeper just had a major brain fart coming out to clear a long pass to Torres, except he cleared it straight to Villa, who from over 40 metres out easily found the goal. Pity - the Chilians were much the better side up to that point.

1-0 spain unfortunatly terrible decision by the goal keeper as Chile were quite comfortable.

Really dont want spain to go through as i absolutly hate busquets with a passion and Chile are a FAR more entertaining team to watch (albeit theyre already through but id like to see them top the group)

totally undeserved, spanish player throwing themselves to the floor and asking the ref for cards all the time

2-0 to SPain now and Chile down to 10 men after a ridiculous decision to issue a yellow card for an accidental trip on Torres

not suprising considering the spain player have surrounded the ref at every oppertunity. Half of them even went to the ref instead of celebrating the second goal

The ref should have disallowed the goal, booked Torres and given a free kick to Chile. Absolutely disgraceful dive, and planned to get a fellow player sent off. Nasty, scummy thing to do from that greasy piece of sh*t from Liverpool.

Hard to deny though that Chile have gone out there with a plan to do damage to SPain's players. The second yellow decision was dreadful but they could arguably be down to 9 men by now even if that decision hadn't been given.
