Yes, Asamoah is a good player. I think he could be a very valuable member of the squad here. Would not be surprised if he became a starter for us eighter.

In that he's a benchwarmer. He was a first team player for two seasons before the injuries. Was in the Serie A team of the year prior to his injuries. But when you are injured for most of two seasons the team learns to cope without you.

I'm not denying it. That why this is a big risk. That said Essien was more physical while Asamoah is way more technical.

Think he's been pretty much crocked the past 2 seasons.

Rarely does a player missing that much football come back like the player they were before.

Hopefully just squad filler.

If it is 50 mil Euro's then yes. £39m for a Striker that will last a decade is nothing.

The problem is there are hardly any strikers available that half decent ones like Morata will cost a bomb.

This all goes back to my defense of the board throughout last season. The market is so difficult with lack of talent, that average and unproven players cost a bomb and the select few marquee players cost an astronomical figure or are just not for sale.

Don't be surprised if we don't make any real decent signings this summer. It's a really tough market that doesn't favour buyers.

I would be ok with him returning. He clearly feels as though he has unfinished business at the bridge. But that price seems too high. I don't understand why there was no buy back club if we thought there was a chance he might come back.

We don't need squad fillers, we need players who will actually make a difference.

Why do we love signing has been players who have a track record of serious injuries. Haven't the board learnt their lesson?

I will never understand our transfer policy. We are willing to pay £40m for morata but couldn't pay 10m more for cavani. £40m for morata might as well go for griezman with a £58m. For me morata is ok not the best. Or maybe get Dyabala instead.

And by the way morata has only scored 12 goals in all competitions last season. For me that's not good enough. Might as well buy Olivier Giroud haha

The 58M for Griezman, is that his buy out clause or pure speculation? I think he will cost a lot more than that. Cavani hasn't been convincing in the past 2-3 years, I think he's about 29 now, heading towards that downhill direction if he's not there already. I'm not saying our transfer policy is great, but there aren't really many options out there, especially we won't be in the CL
