Barcelona have surprisingly pulled the plug on their interest in Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Barca had all but sealed a €40m deal with Nice yesterday (Tuesday) after agreeing a four-year contract with the player and both teams had planned to announce the transfer today (Wednesday). However, senior Barca figures changed their mind last night (Tuesday) and the LaLiga club will not snap up the Ivory Coast international.

Seri featured in Nice’s defeat to Napoli last night – a match many thought would be his last in a Nice shirt – and says he will be available for the French side this weekend.

“No, it was not my last match with Nice, I will be in Amiens on Saturday for the Ligue 1 match,” he said after the match.

Would love him here...9 assists and 6 goals last season for Nice... 

Baka has a far better potential. Except Seri is willing to be a backup.

 

This market window suffers a big problem: world cup next year.

It means every good player wants to play regularly to gain a place in hisown national team.

So a Cancelo what would he prefer? To be a regular at Inter Milan, or a 15 match boy at Chelsea?

    Wouldn't blame him for wanting to go. If the offer came in for £75mil or higher we'd need to look at it.

    Couldn't think of an ideal candidate to replace him that isn't Sanchez, so we'd probably end up with Candreva. 

    Probably just bs though

    If we get that sort of money I'd go straight to Arsenal with a £90-100m offer for Sanchez and Oxlaide Chamberlain...but I wouldn't let him go before we have his replacements on board...keeps the price down and guarantees we aren't left with our pants round our ankles...

    It would have to be Sanchez as the replacement....1 year left on his contract, made up injury keeping him from playing! he wants to leave....the opportunity is there!
