August 29, 20178 yr Seems like some clubs are making late big moves. Liverpool bidding for Lemar in the region of upper 60's, City for Sanchez. Are we going to improve our squad or are we adding depth? Depth is needed, there is no questioning that but we have sold a lot of players and we have potentially 40m coming in from the Costa deal. Will we see a quality signing who will improve a position more than last year? Morata / Costa - About the same but I'd argue Costa is ahead but Morata has time on his side and I feel like he will be good long term for us and better than Costa but as of now maybe not. Ox - This is a depth signing, someone who can play in numerous positions but I feel like if he doesn't hold one position down then he may end up the same as at Arsenal. Improvement over our starting 11? not for me. Moses has done well for us and who knows if Ox will even play there. Rudiger/Christensen - Both look good going into the season and I think we look most impressive there and maybe better than last season as Terry was in decline but who knows if either will get into the side once Cahill is fit. Bakayoko/Drinkwater - Will either be an improvement on our starting 11 from last year? It remains to be seen, Drinkwater is once again a depth signing for the english quota. Bakayoko needs time but an improvement on Matic? Maybe I thought we would of gone for Sanchez and matched any bid City made, we could still do but I feel like we should make a statement signing that would improve our starting 11 to compete in the champions league as we have a very tough group. If Liverpool sign Lemar and keep Coutinho then, City, Utd and Liverpool have scary attacking depth. Edited August 29, 20178 yr by Sheva

I was watching the Everton game, and the commentator was talking about our lack of depth, and how players like Christensen is not Chelsea standard. It's only been 7 days since Christensen kept the all mighty Kane out of the game. Most football pundits don't even watch football outside of England. I bet they don't even keep up with most of English football. I wouldn't be surprised if they get most of their opinions on players from MOTD highlights.
August 29, 20178 yr Kylian Hazard has today signed for Chelsea from Hungarian side Ujpest, and will join our development squad. The 22-year-old, a younger brother of Eden, is an attacking midfielder who started his professional career in his native Belgium, first with White Star Brussels and then Zulte-Waregem. He joined Ujpest in the summer of 2015 and played 42 times for them. The news will encourage Chelsea fans that Eden Hazard could stay at the club for the long term.
August 29, 20178 yr Or maybe the club will sell Eden secretly and use his brother to pretend he's still with us.,

August 29, 20178 yr I think this is to keep Hazard at the club we seem to have a great relationship with the Hazard family

It would be nice to sign a real game changer, but I can't see it happening unless we lose 1 of Pedro, Willian or Batshuayi. Gutted we aren't in for Sanchez.

Gutted we aren't in for Sanchez. We shouldn't have to sell a 1 of those, we need to create competition in places and depth in quality. Pedro, Willian and Hazard cover the right wing and left wing and central positions if needed. Utd: Rashford, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Zlatan City: KDB, Silva, B.Silva, Sterling, Sane, Sanchez (maybe) Liverpool: Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Lallana, Lemar (maybe) Chelsea: Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Fabregas (if at number 10). Spurs struggle to find quality in depth as well as they can only have Son come on and change the game. Obviously if we sign Ox, he can be added to the list but will he replace anyone in that list. If you look at other teams and the names involved, apart from injuries and the transfer speculation surrounding them they have all featured for their teams and are quite important. I feel we need one more quality signing that would make Willian and Pedro look over their shoulders . I think Moses will be looking over his more with the arrival of Ox. Sanchez would be that player and to a lesser extent maybe mahrez.

We have Morata, Batshuayi, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, and Musonda, for our front 3. Sanchez would be a perfect addition as he can also play up top on his own, but it seems like city are leading the race for him. I think we are only 2/3 quality signings away from competing with the best in europe, another attacker with hazards pedigree is one area we could improve. That's no disrespect to Willian or pedro, who are both very good players, but neither have that x factor that hazard possesses.
August 30, 20178 yr We should put a bid in for Lemar if he is available. Let Liverpool have the Ox and get their first choice instead
