August 30, 20178 yr Hahahhaha. So its "Spoiled" to demand that we can get danny drinkwater and Oxlade chamberlain done. Its now spoilt to expect that the club actually gets the minimum depth that we knew we needed for the last 4 months (RWB/LWB/CM). We are just fans who like to act better than others
August 30, 20178 yr Anyway, we have to trust Conte and his tactician Angelo Alessio, they won serie A in 2011 with Estigarribia, Simone Pepe and De Ceglie as wing back. You know them? Exactly.

We have been treated to near enough 15 years of constant success, that's most of the lives of a huge demographic of our fans. If the club change direction, put out a statement, let us know, then we can buckle down and learn to enjoy the football without the expectations of CL and title challenges. The other factor is, it seems Roman wanted to spend, after Cora sale we will be 50 plus million in the black, not only haven't we spent we have made money, and reduced our depth that makes us a selling club by definition. We won the league, got a new kit deal and sleeve sponsor, we were in profit last year while buying out adidas and finishing 10th so the other cash certainly covers wages. If we assume Roman said spend if the players are available, I'm sure he doesn't just give a budget and the board fill it he will give an idea of what he wants to spend and a guideline, if this type of player available spend less if such and such spend more up to X. The fact we were after Sandro and didn't get him means he has allowed high fees to be spent if we can get the right type of player, this will be based on the fact a world class player offers success, which means more prize money, better commercial opportunities and more fans, these things come with success and so high fees can be justified, look at the Real Madrid model after they sold their land to the city and made 250+ million in 2006, they invested in stars and its paying off until today. With this said he have to believe the money is there is the players can be got, so it's down to the failure of the board not to have got players in, we bid on Sandro so the money was clearly available for the right players, marina couldn't bag the right players. Now finally even on a lower budget we haven't brought in any value buys, we certainly need players and no chance the board aren't allowed to buy a few players in the 25-40 million range, yet we are 2 days away with no one. Being spoiled is one thing, pointing out failures in the window of the board, in particular marina, on their high salaries while being outperformed by their peers at other clubs should be mentioned, if a player doesn't perform we complain, why not the untouchable board, they shat the bed after Mou won, shat it last year and because of the manager not who we brought in after 10th place we got a result, look back to the start of the season most were thinking we wouldn't make top 4. The board has down a poor job for a good few windows now, they can't get their targets when our rivals can, we let city buy 3 wing backs under our nose and couldn't get 1, sorry but that's piss poor. August 30, 20178 yr At one point of time, I was worried about our HG quota. All for nothing. We dont even have 17 non HG players to actually give in our roster (Tibo, Willy, Eduardo; DL, Azpi, Rudi, Alonso; Kante, Baka; Hazard, Pedro, Willian; Morata, Michy). SHAMBOLIC

We had all the time since Morata signing (4/5 weeks ago) So perhaps we spent all of that time exploring and adding suitable targets to the list? That must be some list. I hope in the morning of September 1st after the celebrations of Drinkwater and Llorente signings have died down they'll post it on the official club website and we can all feast our eyes on what might have been.
August 30, 20178 yr Let's wait until the Nike deal kicks in before we get worried. THere's loads of time left in the window.
August 30, 20178 yr For me best case scenario with the limited time left in the window is we can't sell Diego he says sorry eats humble pie, Antonio forgives him after 3 weeks of hazing and we play 2 up top of Costa and morata.
August 30, 20178 yr We have signed some good players but the fact the board has trimmed the squad to threadbare levels is just shocking
August 30, 20178 yr It could be because of the versatility in our CBs with the addition of Rudiger and Christensen with Luiz able to hold down a place in central midfield means we have less urgency on strengthening further.

August 30, 20178 yr So my prediction may yet come through regarding us not signing anyone and then blaming other factors, the board is really disappointing and my expectations of them gets lower and lower.Your prediction won't come through because there is little chance that we can get a top player in January, so we will do the business in this transfer window. Emenalo and co are just playing the waiting game so we can get players like the Alonsos and Luizs without paying over the odd on the last day. Don't rule out the signing of Sandro!
August 30, 20178 yr Linked with Rafinha from Bayern now according to german media while Spurs are close to signing Aurier from PSG.I will be very happy with that. I like his work rate.
August 30, 20178 yr We will start the season with the same squad we have now with only morata, baka, Rudiguer and Willy 4 players in and I lost count on the amount we let go so far

You make some fair points. However, I come from a generation for whom getting enough points to avoid relegation was the aim every season. I'm loving the ride these days, but don't "expect" success. As far as I am concerned, my aim for this season is exactly the same. A good run in the cup and not losing to Spuds or West Ham is a huge bonus. I'd argue with you about "being outperformed by their peers at other clubs". Our closest rivals last season haven't strengthened at all, City have done what City do, and, under a proficient manager they would walk the quadruple. Luckily, they don't have a proficient manager, so they will still not gel as an outstanding team, but will always be a team of outstanding individuals (and KdB). Last year's fifth or sixth placed team have bought a lot, and are looking good at the moment, but are yet to play anyone of any stature. Scousers - what can I say, this year is their year. Again. They'll run about a lot, and they'll sing their karaoke and be pandered to by the media and witter on mourning dead chickens and they'll come up short again this year, they'll just do it a bit faster up front. BUT, and this is critical, who have any of the top six bought that we would be strengthened by if we had bought them? I'm not up to date on the very latest transfers, but I can't really think of anyone. Could be wrong, though. "Pointing out failures in the window of the board" is both spoiled and ridiculous, in my opinion, and I'll tell you for why. None of us, and no-one in the media, knows what the board are doing in private discussions, who they have and have not attempted to buy, why any such potential transfers did or did not materialise and how much or how little the transfer budget is, or what potential salaries have been offered to potential players. For example, the press had been telling us all this year that we were in for Lukaku, and at at record transfer fee, because it suited their agenda of being able to both take the piss because we had to buy back someone we sold, and also to generate clicks and readers who would swallow this guff. AND, this was while the club and particularly Conte were directly after Moratta, and had given no indication at all that they even wanted Lukaku. The press even invented "rejected offers", much as they have been for other players all this and previous windows. Then, when the player signs for some mid-table northern outfit, the wonderful press can run with their "Chelsea snubbed by....." scenario. Double-bubble win for the scum of the press. Ignore all these "in the know, I have inside sources, I'm special" w**kers and their stories. They know the same as you do, they just have a vivid imagination to make up some possibility or other and a pulpit from which to preach it to people like us, who swallow it as truth because it either reinforces or contradicts our hopes or fears. I think it's called confirmation bias, and that is not a good thing.
