I don't think he is worth anywhere near £25m in truth and he needs to prove he isn't just a one season wonder. 

 

To be honest, I don't think he would be an upgrade on our current strikers.

Did Arsenal offer £24,000,001?

Apparently looking at Benficas Rodrigo if we cant get Rooney.

I was just thinking why we are not looking at Benfica or Porto for quality players. Portugese league's treated us well in terms of transfers...

Can't say I know much about him, but he looks like a interesting player.

Scored a slightly unimpressive 11 goals in 39 games last season.  

 

I was just thinking why we are not looking at Benfica or Porto for quality players. Portugese league's treated us well in terms of transfers...

 

The Portuguese teams do tend to bend you over a bit when it comes to transfer fees. 

 

Fair play to them but I always think a lot of big transfers from there are over valued. 

Would be very surprised if we signed him, he's not ready yet. Why not just go for Cardozo?

I would assume due to his age, the club seem quite reluctant to sign anyone over the age of 24, let alone 30 now days.

You are probably right. But you have to admit we've done well signing from Portugal. Ferreira, Luiz, Ramires...Maniche 

Carvalho too

The problem is that Porto sold Moutinho and 'the other guy whose name I cannot remember' for €60m already. They're under no pressure to sell any more and will ask for ridiculous prices.

Is Galatasaray’s Burak Yilmaz.still worth considering...there was talk earlier in the year that he may be available for £20m

 

According to this, he may be on his way to Lazio for as little as £12m...is it worth hi-jacking the deal for that price?

I think if Chelsea and Roman using his little scouting app thought he was worth getting then they would have brought him in by now. For me i think its Rooney or bust. I cant see us signing Eto'o because of age and wage demands.

I agree, but I do however think we should put in big bid for lewandowski, With aubemayang settling well, they must be a little more comfortable to sell now.

I'd test their resolve with 30m plus ba. Then sit down with lewandowski and make him an offer he cant refuse.

He has a relatively cheap buyout clause.  The problem is getting him to agree to sign.  I'm sure Dortmund would love to sell him to us over Bayern, if they must lose him.
