July 4, 201610 yr yeah forgot those two. Shouldn't have relied on the spammers! Don't blame our jellied eel munching friends Rich, the blame lies squarely with my mrs, then my girlfriend, first two matches I took her to.
July 4, 201610 yr Jezz: The Bridge looks packed in your picture v Wolves from 1933. Hope we won that game.
July 4, 201610 yr Chelsea played Wolves twice in 1933 at Stamford Bridge and won both matches. January 28 1933 - Chelsea 3-1 Wolves September 2 1933 - Chelsea 5-2 Wolves
July 5, 201610 yr That picture v Wolves in 1933. I reckon it would be the Sept game as the pitch looks in far too good a condition for it to be the January game.
July 5, 201610 yr Author Remember this game like it was yesterday, i was 16/17 & was in the shed, my Arsenal mate went in their end, few Gooner firm got slapped in the west stand, a mate of a mate got nicked for chinning one even though he had a stewards jacket on & was his first day as a steward, after the game we came out & just by the west entrance was a firm of Arsenal all their black lads, what stood out for me was just how many were wearing those small leather Calvary type caps, the roar went up & Chelsea ran at them, bit of fisticuffs before they got run, met my mate later on who said he was buzzing walking out with 1,000s of Arsenal on the fulham road, he thought they'd taken the piss but i said leave it out you got held back & then escorted to the tube when it was safe. Colin West scored our winner. ps cant wait for this to turn up on twitter(not that i mind by the way)
July 5, 201610 yr ^ CB, is this the game? Can't believe it was in 1987. Where have all the years gone. Edited July 5, 201610 yr by Boyne
July 5, 201610 yr I was in Munich over the weekend, and spotted that we've left our mark on that city in more ways than one: A name to bring back a few memories.
July 6, 201610 yr Did you also see the Tea Bar? No, but that's amazing to see them both in the same city.
July 6, 201610 yr The final day of the season at Grimsby Town when we secured promotion to the top flight in 1984. Edited July 6, 201610 yr by Jezz
July 6, 201610 yr The final day of the season at Grimsby Town when we secured promotion to the top flight in 1984. I'm in the first photo. Third person along from the OB on the right of the pic. Leather jacket with sheepskin collar. Top day out......and an evening celebrating in Nottingham!
July 6, 201610 yr I was in the side terrace from where the pictures are taken. I think they were taking a tenner on the turnstiles!! Bearing in mind most clubs for our away games ( they didn't look like away games!!) were all ticket. It was great to turn up and between the club and police, they didn't have a clue leading to people getting in late and causing bad feeling which at times led to some disagreements!!!!!

Probably our best performance at home in a poor season. Even Spuds won at the Bridge that season! Arsenal were a young team on the up and I remember they had just beaten Spuds in the league cup semi. I think Colin West made his debut and ran them ragged, as well as scoring the match winner. Unfortunately his career never took off from there and I think he only scored one more goal for us. The win was even more impressive as I think Keith Dublin may have played.
