I'm looking forward to some games that were funded with Kickstarter, simply bypassing EA and their like.

EA have ruined some of my favorite games series after acquiring the developers and forcing them to dumb-down to increase mass-appeal. The Battlefield series is a good example of this.

64 players online for the next gen consoles Battlefield 4.... There is hope yet. 

I recommend Ghost Recon Online. Free 2 play online shooter. I've been playing for the last week and it's a great game considering it's free

Did anyone play Max Payne 3 and enjoy it?  I think the sale right now through PS Plus has it for $7.99 American and like 2-3 more for DLC.  

I've been playing that DOTA 2 thing last few days. It's reasonably fun, but bloody difficult and the community isn't particularly forgiving.

I bought that on sale about a year ago but haven't installed it yet... quite a few of my Steam Friends really liked it though. I thought the first two Max Payne games were bloody brilliant.

The first Max payne with the new bullet time thing was superb, 2nd was a bit weak i thought. Loved the 3rd one though.

I second that; Max Payne One was awesome. I can still picture the maze to get through the house when he was drugged! I never finished it though, the last level was too much!

Max Payne 3 was quality. Especially the shoot-out in the Brazilian favelas, great level. 

UFC Undisputed 3 is literally the most retarded game ever, I mean I know Dana White is an idiot but to create game so full of absolute sh*t is new low even for him. It appears the next UFC game will be made in cooperation with EA so perhaps they will be able to mend it, but based on previous releases i'd say that it's a game that will need god to fix it. Bullsh*t of a game.

Spec Ops: The Line

 

Got it through PS+ this month, it's a third person shooter. Story line is pretty good, about the lines (hence the name) crossed during war and the consequences of them 

 

Definitely worth a play through if you have PS+ 

We had that on PS Plus a couple months ago. Overall I enjoyed it and it's much better story than CoD games, but it had some issues, both in gameplay and story.

Yeah some big plot holes following the ending stick out but worth playing on PS+.

 

I only have 3 more trophies to get and I would have the Platinum trophy (my first one). Although I've got to play through it on the FUBAR difficulty and the hard mode gave me a few problems as it was. 

Go to the https://www.humblebundle.com/ and pick up a whole bundle of decent games for 1 dollar or more, you choose what to pay and it all goes to charity so its all in good cause as well, just bought it myself.

Did anyone play star wars the old republic?  It's an MMO, but I'm not terribly interested in that side of it.  I played through it for the story and it was worth it.  Some of them were fantastic, especially Empire side.  You can play the whole thing for free now, but they've heavily restricted perks to a point where I think it's unbearable unless you subscribe or unlock them through the store.

I just copped Battlefield 3 Premium Edition today for Xbox 360. And even though gameplay is good the story seems a bit messy for me. I'm still quite in the beginning so not saying much. And I haven't tried the multiplayer out yet cuhz my Xbox Live Gold is expired atm.

 

Anybody else got that on Xbox 360?

I got BF3 on Playstation.

Not touched the single player but the multiplayer is okay but as ever the maps are too big for the console version of the game with only 12 a side.

The new consoles allowing 64 players will be a massive improvement.

Battlefield games have traditionally been multiplayer only, it's only the last couple of game that were ported to consoles that EA decided should have token single player campaigns tacked on.

 

BF3 was disappointing to a lot of fans of previous games but BF4 looks promising. The thing that I'm most pleased about in BF4 is the return of the commander role. It's all very well having 64 people running around blowing random things up but with a good commander on a good server you can get 64 people running around with an actual purpose.

BF4 looks pretty good, I might have to grab it. I agree Bluedave, the return of the commander role should make the online action all the better... Or at the very least, more interesting.

The single player on BF3 was absolute sh*te.

 

But the multiplayer is fantastic. My favourite map and game mode is Rush on Karg Island. Love it!
