May 18, 201214 yr Go for the "ator" lads, else I will be dissappointed in ya's !! I was assuming they want to get into the ground, the ...ator beers have a strength of over double the average English pint. If you really want the Bayern experience try a Goassmass ( a pint of dark beer, a pint of cola in a litre pot and either a double whisky or a double brandy chucked in the mix). I was hospitalised in Munich in 1985 after a day drinking those, ahh the happy days of youth eh ? Tastes fantastic, but is absolutely lethal. You can order one in most Munich bars though.
May 18, 201214 yr We'll be taking no notice of the odds. We know we will need to play well to win and the players know that too. We will be up for it that's for sure. I have a lot of negativity ahead of this game, negativity I will keep too myself as my fellow blues are worried enough as is. I'll just say I think Bayern are strong favourite for a number of fair reasons. What I'll add though is I want to enjoy the occasion regardless of the end result. You said earlier Zippy you have seen Bayern play in 4 CL finals in your time supporting them. I am sure there have been many more finals that were ahead of your time. In our clubs over 100 year history we have only ever managed to reach 2 CL finals. So what that means is this is huge for us, not that it is not for Bayern of course. Last time we could not enjoy it, not even able to look back on the campaign with a smile. Why? Because we lost the final? No because we faced weaker sides most of the way through, and our "big achievement" was dumping out Liverpool, before a final with United. Now really in the top European competition your campaign ends in that? How would it feel to end with facing Bayer then Dortmund? Previously we had the great moments, against Barca, then against your Bayern side in the quarters. Our reward? Farkin Liverpool AGAIN! This time around however we got the great occasions, the epic run. Napoli, a side you played in the group stages. A side that knocked out the new English Champions, gave us two amazing games. Then Benfica, the side that knocked out United. Two technical games. Then Barca, the back to back champions of Europe, two more epic games with an amazing climax. This has been a truly amazing CL season, our best ever. A dream in many respects. Maybe it will have a nightmare ending but even if it does I want to enjoy the overall perspective. We went through all that and now face a giant in their own home, are massive underdogs and only the most ardent of our fans (and the odd lama) give us a prayer of returning with the trophy. An epic situation, one for us not to let slip past by focusing on the possible negative. Edited May 18, 201214 yr by axman2526

May 18, 201214 yr forget the feelings of negativity...believe...this team came back for 2-0 down at the nou camp with 10 men...anything is possible so get behind the team and enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 18, 201214 yr I still think weve been very unlucky with our CL final venues, the fact we had to travel half way around the world for our first CL final, then the 2nd CL final comes along, and were playing an away game in our opponents stadium/city, instead of a conventional neutral final. Next year we may not be in the tournament, and guess what, the finals at Wembley, bleeding typical ! Blimey half way around the world? Russia is only 3 hours away lol!
May 18, 201214 yr Blimey half way around the world? Russia is only 3 hours away lol! Nearly four hours, and where else in Europe is that far, thats my point.
May 18, 201214 yr Got this one for Zippy, give all of the "omens" so far have been ones in our favour: justanotherposter©->[/url]']"Last time a team won the PL first time, the team in red won their 5th European Cup and on the way they knocked out Chelsea. Even bad...the team won the PL wears Blue!!! "
May 18, 201214 yr I thought it was really stupid by Heynckes to call Drogba a "great actor on the pitch." Is he forgetting that Robben and Ribery play for Bayern?
May 18, 201214 yr Ok but we can't moan it was the same for united that day! My point was that we have not been very lucky with our final venues so far.
May 18, 201214 yr Someone on a forum posted this. I just added a couple of things. 9 Reasons why Chelsea must win this final! 1. On the previous 3 occasions, the team that has managed to beat Barca in the semis has gone on to lift the Cup: Real Madrid (2002), Manchester United (2008) and Inter Milan (2010). 2. The last time Atletico Madrid won the Europa League, Chelsea won a Double and Bayern Munich lost the Champions League final against Inter. 3. The last English team (Manchester United) to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League, went on to lift the trophy and won the competition. 4. An English team (Manchester United) has previously won the FA Cup and gone on to win the Champions League, beating Bayern Munich in the final that lost the DFB Pokal during that season. 5. The last time Manchester City won the league title, an English team (Manchester United) won the European Cup. 6. All Champions League finals played in Munich produced a winner of the competition for the first time in their history (Nottingham Forest, Marseille and Dortmund). 7. The last time Manchester United went trophyless, an English Club won the Champions League (Liverpool) and they didn't finish in the top 4. 8. The Champions League Finale is on 19-05 and Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 9. And last but not least for Chelsea: 2000: Quarterfinal 2004: Semifinal 2008: Final 2012: ???? May 18, 201214 yr My point was that we have not been very lucky with our final venues so far. Are you talking in footballing terms or fan travelling terms? I'm confused!
May 18, 201214 yr All these omens, facts and stats are scaring me. I've got no nerves left - tomorrow is going to drag.
May 18, 201214 yr Are you talking in footballing terms or fan travelling terms? May 19, 201214 yr Listening to Radio 1 today they did a bit on the game in munich. They spoke to a Chelsea fan who had a ticket to the match and his words were "this is the biggest day of my life. I've waited for this for years and but I can just see FAT FRANK lifting the trophy" WTF, I honestly thought none of our fans would label him FAT FRANK. What a Knob head I also heard this but was not sure if I heard it correctly. It could of been tongue in cheek to the rival fans who called Frank "Fat Frank" I ain't sure but if he did mean it then he can f**k OFF.
May 19, 201214 yr We will win 2:1, Mata score the winning goal from a free kick after an alleged Drogba dive. After go missing in the semi finals against Barcalona, I reckon this is the match for Mata. He's been hitting free kicks well, either hit the post or denied by some ridiculous saves.
May 19, 201214 yr I just have a irrational belief in Torres (validated after that Barca goal). I just know he's going to play a part in a win. Maybe a goal, maybe a assist. I know he will play a pivotal part. Great players step up during big games. Edited May 19, 201214 yr by kitierkatba
May 19, 201214 yr Man city fan here, good luck for Saturday.hope you are as lucky for this match as you were for the semis.you defended brilliantly. Stuff them. Thank you for your support but be aware there is no such thing as luck we will be buzzing tomorrow Carefree!

May 19, 201214 yr Think the headline is designed by Sky to piss some people off here: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7765111/Lahm-writes-off-Chelsea Cannot say Lahm anywhere in the article writes us off.
