nonotnowjim
Credit where credit is due. A fair few of us on here, myself included have been quick to critizise various member of the board and dirctors at various points in the recent past, especially on transfer matters....but it does appear that they have learned from their past mistakes. We are going into the end period of the transfer window, and appear likely to have finished our spending. We have strengthend in Defense, Mid and attack, and have got in young and hungry players who hopefully will serve us well for many years. No nervous last day of the transfer window for us, hoping to sign Torres, Modric or the like.... Well done Gourlay, Buck, Emanelo and whoever else have played a part in first identifying our targets, and then going out to secure them. Happy days. shedpensioner
Super happy with squad, but we still need to offload some players... I think thats the job for the next week, can see us moving at least Malouda, Benayoun and probably 1 more.
dkw
This transfer window has basically rebuilt our squad for the next several years, with the only thing missing being one more striker. We have signed some exiting young talents which will hopefully be supplemented with young talent from within the academy in the next few years, exciting times indeed. coco
If Lukaku carries on banging them in for the baggies this season, we'll have a new striker next season.
Funny_Old_Game
Yes very happy with the new signings however we are in need of a second experienced, quality striker. If Torres is to pick up an injury or have another goal drought I would not be too confident in our replacement who most probably would be Sturridge? chelseablueboy
I think the club have done brilliant this window. We've got possibly the best young talent in Europe, one of Brazils most gifted youngsters, and a couple of other very promising young players. I don't think we could have asked for more of Roman. Besides the players i'm also happy (as mentioned earlier) that the business has been done quickly with relatively little fuss, and well in advance of the end of the transfer window. In fact two of them have already had an impact, with one looking to be a future star for us !! What a season we have in front of us, and i for one am full of anticipation & excitement for what's coming in the next 10 months.... enjoy my friends, enjoy. Gem
The board have shown true commitment to helping the club move even further forward, no one more so than Roman. I know a lot of our spend was from the money received winning the Champions League but you either keep that money or you invest, Roman is 100% about Chelsea. Still, let's not get too carried away, we can still blame Kenyon right?

Kalou Time
Yes very happy with the new signings however we are in need of a second experienced, quality striker. If Torres is to pick up an injury or have another goal drought I would not be too confident in our replacement who most probably would be Sturridge? Last year both Torres & Drogba had goal droughts (at the same time), Lukaku/Sturridge didn't get a look in up front. If Torres goes 10 games without scoring he will still start, so really it doesn't matter provided he doesn't pick up an injury
paulo
Credit where credit is due. Agree totally. It's not just the players we've bought but the way we have gone about it, the prices we have paid and the players we may have left alone because of ridiculous demands. Proud of the way we have done business for the first time since Roman took over; alright you could say it's his money not ours but even so it's not nice getting mugged. This puts us in a much stronger negotiating position for future deals as well, other clubs should know we won't pay over the odds for players anymore. jack_super_class
Exciting times,we really have a excellent squad now though i still feel we need to add a CF before the window shuts. We haven't a squad this young with so many exciting young technical attacking talents before. We should be more exciting to watch this season and create and score plenty. EdinburghBlue
Have to agree here, it's unlike us to get our business over and done with well in advance, but it's good we have the early games to gel properly and none of the heart in the mouth moments come deadline day. I will miss the excitement of it though!

Celery1989
Big credit to the board. Our squad has finally received the sufficient influx of young talent that was sorely needed for a few years. I have no qualms with the big fees that were paid for Hazard and Oscar because of their talent. I'm impressed with the deals for Marin, Moses and Azpilicueta which were all very shrewdly agreed - A few years back we would probably have caved in and paid £15 million or so for each of these players. So yeah, Thanks Roman and co.! I think we simply need 1 more CM and striker and then our squad is set for the future. What's great is that we may already have those players out on loan in Lukaku and McEachran. Edited August 28, 2012 by Celery1989
Spiller86
I think we're in a different position from other clubs having just had a massive windfall from winning the CL. It's easy to shop when you have plenty of disposable income. Besides Hazard has done well for a couple of games, we haven't seen anything really of Oscar, Azpilicueta, Marin, De Bruyne or Moses yet. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch people.

Spot on I think with the Champs league winnings and the additional revenue to come from winning it we must have had or be getting near on £100 mil.
