Nope, it's not wrong ... He's been the biggest waste of money in prem history and has destabilised this club since his arrival and has been directly or in-directly responsible for seeing some good real chelsea people leaving ...

Yer so destabilised that we have won a champions league, fa cup and europa cup since his arrival!

What people?

Ah yes, one of those people who believe this myth that he's a top manager. Get over it for goodness sake.

He is a Chelsea Legend unlike your golden boy who will go down as the biggest flop in British football.

Roberto Di Matteo ?

Roman never wanted to appoint Robbie & took the first opportunity to sack him, nothing to do with Torres.

But you keep blaming everything on Torres if it makes you feel better.

Difference is I've fully accepted Torres is one of the biggest flops in WORLD football, however, you don't seem to grasp that RDM was the wrong man to take us on full time. He is a Chelsea legend as a player and a manager but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture.

And FSW's picture certainly was bigger.

Sturridge? I always wonder if he would have stayed and been our main striker if we hadn't signed Torres.

That being said, you can't really blame Torres for Sturridge being sold or RDM being sacked. Those weren't his decisions. We decided we were going to buy an out of form striker for 50m and do whatever it took to make him good again. Unfortunately it didn't work.

What you failed to accept is that Torres in-directly was a factor in RdM's sacking and FSW's appointment - which was cfcblue's original point.

How??

Roman took ages to appoint Robbie after we'd won the CL, which would indicate he never wanted to give him the job in the first place!

If you want to pin the appointment of the interim on Torres then you go ahead, but I doubt that he has any input to managerial appointments at the club.

Along with Torres the appointment of Benitez was vanity on behalf of our owner, another decision he's got badly wrong!

Well in that case the other 15 players in the squad were in-directly at fault for Rdm's sacking! Like it or not you can't pin everything at the door of  torres as much as you and others want to. You could also say positively that torres was a factor in us signing hazard, oscar and mata at the time he was here but we both know that's total and utter bullsh*t just like your post was

We are not talking about the appointment - we are talking about the sacking. Which was in the works after RdM got no backing in the transfer market and had two strikers he obviously didn't rate too highly as his only options. Part of RdM's job was obviously making Torres regain his form. This is very obvious judging by RdM's own comments of watching hours of footage of Torres goals at Liverpool something he didn't do for Sturridge for example examining his goals at CFC/City/Bolton.

If it wasn't we might have actually tried to sign a striker that summer after our CL victory.

FSW was obviously hired due to two factors - final throw of the dice to get Torres scoring and only high profile interim manager available at the time. If there wasn't as much history behind FSW/Torres link up I doubt he would have been the manager we hired.

Thats my opinion on the matter, if you think we would have appointed FSW as intermix manager if the board wasn't desperate to do everything possible to get some return on their massive Torres blunder.

Your posts are bloody cancer as usual - keep it up.

If Im not mistaken, RDM did better in the league than Rafa with the exact same squad.  RDM didn't really get a fair chance if we are honest.  If sacking Carlo a season after winning the league/FA cup final is harsh (and it was), then why is it not harsh for RDM to be sacked months into the season after the CL/FA cup double?  RDM, I felt, was doing a pretty decent job with what he had.  Went the first 12 league matches with only one defeat.  So we can suspect RDM wasn't good enough, fact is he didn't get a real chance to prove it and if we must decide on the balance of what he accomplished....well, a CL trophy in a FA cup in less than a season means that on a proportionate success/trophies won in comparison to time spent managing us, he is the best manager we've ever had.  No one yet has improved upon the 3rd place finishing RDM was in line for, and the squad has only gotten better.

Just saying I have as much a right to say RDM is the best manager we've ever had as any here have to say he was out of his depth.  He didn't really get a chance to prove it, he just wasn't a big enough name.

So Romans lack of belief in Robbie from the start had nothing to do with his sacking? Riiiiiiggggghhtt!

So Romans Fernando romance had nothing to do with RdM's squad being handicapped by an awful striker

RDM was tainted by being AVB's number two he was there in his crazy reign and did no better in the league that season. I think we went from 5th to 6th although I would take FA cup and the c/l over a 3rd place finish that we saw this year. in Hindsight RDM should have walked that summer as he clearly wasnt respected. There is also the misplaced view that he wasnt in charge the players were etc which I find a bit insulting but those well placed seem to cheapen his involvement.

I have also been very dissapointed by Jose mocking RDM by not getting out of the group stages and leaving us in the Europa league. Considering RDM has managed to do what Jose hasnt in 4 attempts.

There are a lot of right things to say about Torres time at Chelsea but that he got RDM the sack is wrong.

So Romans Fernando romance had nothing to do with RdM's squad being handicapped by an awful striker

So that's Romans fault, not Torres!

Theirs no reasoning with you, in your mind everything is Torres fault & you refuse to look at the wider picture!

Another angry young boy we have here. Blimey torres really does bring the school mob out doesn't he.

Theirs no reasoning with you, in your mind everything is Torres fault & you refuse to look at the wider picture!

The original point I was arguing about was the finger he had in  in-directly being responsible for RdM's sacking. If he wasn't as bad on the field or if we had the nous to get a proper striker playing ahead of him RdM would not have been sacked at that point. Torres demanded to be first choice after the CL Triumph and the board and owner were happy to do it. That crippled us in the League where a striker in form is the difference between challenging for honors in the League and struggling to meet expectations.

I never claimed he was solely to blame at any point during this argument. But there are plenty of people putting words in my mouth and insulting RdM - who at the very least deserved to see the season out instead of being replaced by a Fat Spanish Waiter.

Who surprise surprise  was the only manger under which Torres has been prolific at club level. I guess that's another coincidence and had nothing to do with Torres

We all think that Robbie should have got the season, but the truth is Roman didn't want to keep him beyond the CL final, but found his hands tied by our unexpected victory, he then took the first opportunity to sack him! Nothing to do with Torres everything to do with Roman.

The appointment of Benitez, was ill judged by a board who thought that fans were as fickle as they are, I don't believe it had anything to do with Torres & was solely due to availability & the boards perception that he was the best man for the job.

You're blaming Torres when the real blame lies with the board.
