That was an awful miss from him last night, but as Chelsea fans we have see it all before.

What makes it all the more tragic was that it was utterley unsurprising.

Honestly, Llorente and that Man city striker sitting at home must've weeped when they saw that, and I don't blame them one bit.

At least Torres has proven in the past he was a world class striker and has scored some big goals in big games for Liverpool and Spain. Negredo has always been a second rate striker and will continue to be one. He showed that in the second half of the season for City when he did absolutely nothing. I thought it was strange when he was scoring all those goals in the first half of the season but it got evened out in the second half of the season.

Torres has popped up with the occasional big goal for us to, to be fair.

He lets me down all season, but he never lets me down in international competitions.

I've gone and done it again and bet on him for the golden boot! I won in the euros and confeds with him, lets complete the hatrick nando!

Are you still confident?

By the way, hi guys, it's BlueTorres9, had to open a new account cos I forgot my stupid details.

Seems you have a memory like Torres, he's also forgot where the goal is.

If that man stays in our squad ill hold it against jose forever. I would hate doing that but a manager that keeps a useless money sucking player like this is by no means special. In any way. And i love jose to death.

Why would you hold it against Jose?

You can't force a player to leave, especially if they haven't done anything wrong discipline wise.

You can tell the player he isn't going to be first choice etc etc but if they opt to stay and see out their contract they are well within their rights to do so.

It might but be up to Jose have you thought of that? Torres has a very pricey wage bill and he probably doesn't want to give that yo that makes it hard for the club to move him on as other teams won't pay those kinds of wages.

Remember what Malouda did?  He served out his contract to the last day.   Just like Bogarde did.   I cannot fault Torres for doing the same thing, since we are talking big money here.

He earns close to 10 mil a year before tax (how much tax high earners like him pay is questionable). On top of that he gets access to market worldwide brands such as Samsung.

I expect him to see his contract out.

485 pages of mostly negativity.

*ALL* other Chelsea forums have similar, massive 'enough is enough' Torres threads ...

Think of the relief his departure would bring!

Unfortunately, I just can't see how we can offload him due to his ridiculous wages ...

Torres knows this is his final financial hooray and will simply do a Bogarde.

Therefore, this totally unsatisfactory & nightmarish situation may just continue for another 2 YEARS!

2 more years of this !!!

It beggars belief ... in any other line of business Torres would be taken down the capability route.

Why are people talking as if he doing a malouda? There has been no indication so far that he forcing the club to keep him. He strikes me from the outside looking in as the kind of guy who if told he isn't wanted would want to get out as soon as possible.

Just because most of you lot want him out it doesn't mean jose or the club do!

Why are people talking as if he doing a malouda?

Doing a Malouda?

He most definitely wanted to play first team football and see out his contract with a club he loved and being settled in London.

I don't see much wrong with that and he was definitely in a lower wage bracket, which he could, and probably did get elsewhere after Chelsea.

But he was told he wasn't wanted and wouldn't be playing or on the bench! He chose to still hang around and take his wages despite not playing any football. Torres wouldn't do that

Massive difference. Malouda still wanted to play and told he'll train with the youngsters instead. I think (as did others at the time) that he was quite ill treated at the end, after winning a lot with the club.

I'm not debating whether Torres is or will do that. Am just saying I didn't see Malouda trying to fleece the club as Bogarde did. Florent actually wanted to be included and was pissed that he wasn't.

Fair enough but I still don't see the difference. If malouda was told rightly or wrongly that he wasn't part of the first teams plans then what need is there to hang around other than to collect a big juicy wage packet?

If a similiar thing happens with torres where torres is told he isn't wanted but he hangs around and collects his wages then people will be jumping all over him!

People are already jumping all over him so this won't make much difference tbh.
