Chelsea fans wanted for ITV4 football debate show pilot

Featured Replies

Hi,

My name is Tom Day and I'm working on a pilot for a new ITV 4 football debate show.

We're looking for passionate and opinionated football fans to be part of our studio audience and put forward questions to our panel of big name guests from the world of football.

It's a serious discussion show, and while there will be plenty of light hearted moments we are aiming for a tone to the debate that is closer to Question Time than Soccer AM. We want to give fans the chance to hear from our panel of experts (comprising players, managers, referees and journalists), to pose questions, discuss the big talking points of the moment in the game, and to hear the opinions of those who know the game from the inside.

The pilot will be filmed on Monday the 22nd October in Central London from 6pm, and will be finished by around 9pm.

If you're interested in coming along, representing your football club and asking a question then please get in touch, either by email ([email protected]) or phone (02071574524), and I can explain more about the show.

Similarly if there is anyone you know who would be interested, please send them my details.

Thanks, and look forward to hearing from you

Tom Day

Would we be allowed to ask why no-one mentions that Rio is a drug cheat every time his name is mentioned, but any Chelsea player that is mentioned has his whole lifes rap sheet pulled out!

Come on . Are there any literate chelsea fans out there that can handle a possible heated debate in a tv studio?..We need someone to speak well about the issues thrown up , or able to give a good point of view

I can hold my own in argument/debate but...

The media can go uck off.

IMO Le Arse fans are chronic serial mass debaters.

Scooby blue would be the ideal man for the job but not sure he would fancy it.

I'd hold my own until it becomes heated and I start winding everybody up

I'd also expect that once I break out into a rendition of 'f**k 'em all' I'd be escorted from the premises.

Looking round it seems that Mr Day has been posting the same request at the forums of various London clubs. He doesn't appear to have got round to Arsenal as yet. What the significance of this could be I have no idea. Looking at other fans responses to the request, I came across this on a Tottenham forum:

I would pay anything to hear that kid with the conspiracy theory that Levy has a hidden homosexual agenda to hire only young and attractive players debate on national tv.

...Levy only hired AVB because he is so handsome and that they are only worried about assembling a good looking team.

So now we know!

That's me out then - it wouldn't take long at all before I got wound up, and I'd end up doing time.

Sure, just fly me out to London. I'll come dressed elegantly in a tailcoat, tophat and monocle and speak in Received Pronunciation. If anyone dares object to the points that I raise, I'll simply point out that I was educated at Eton and thus am better than them. They, being of a lower class, will hang their head in shame and concede the argument.

You'll never pass as Eton if you don't say "better than they" Brandinho!

Dear Tom Day,

Could you please find out who at ITV thought that a great presenter would be Adrian Chiles, and who thinks that Andy Townsend, Jim Beglin and Craig Burley are good choices as co-commentators?! Clive Tyldsley is taxing enough, so to put him with one of those 3 morons is pure overkill.

When Chiles shuts up and lets the pundits in the studio talk, its ok. Can't be any worse than Shearers MOTD analysis which entirely consists of counting the number of players in the opponents half. "look at all those players! 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5". Nice one Alan.

As for your debating show, I'm sure whatever the topic is, it will eventually lead to Terry/Cole getting bashed, people comparing footballers to olympians and calls for Terry to be banned. The usual.

Kind Regards,

Adam.

I nominate Davey Baby, Tommy Docherty, Dorset or Loz.

Indeed, many can tap a good talk but can they walk the talk. To be not represented would be a crime and allow greater airplay to the plebs. I nominate all 3... :-)

I'm happy to 'debate' with Spurs fans, so long as there's no witnesses, and I'm sure we could persuade Lofty to make an appearance and speak with Liverpool fans in a calm manner.

Yorkley Blue would hold his own with Bristol City fans (ooo-err, ooo-arrrr), while Andreas would love to discuss dodgy decisions with any referee that's available.

Sorted!

That's me out then - it wouldn't take long at all before I got wound up, and I'd end up doing time.

On the other hand BB..The situation at the studio with a (maybe) mixture of fans will call for your size 19 high leg boots., and it will make good tv you doing the y*d audience
