June 20, 201313 yr The Halo campaigns were rather epic - really cool video scenes etc, it was like a big movie saga. I wasnt fond of the online multiplayers though really. I loved Halo 1's "Blood Gulch" map, simple shoot em up, great fun. As the series went on it got too vast and I lost interest in it. Blood Gulch, how many bloody hours did I sink into that hell-hole! Halo's 4 player split-screen multiplayer was epic.
June 22, 201313 yr If only their exclusives didn't suck so bad I would probably reconsider. Titanfall looks amazing what you going on about?! I think Xbox one had better exclusives then the PS4.
June 22, 201313 yr I can't believe people still play COD. When you've played battlefield there's no going back. Never played it, what makes it better?
June 22, 201313 yr Author I've never played COD or similar games. I don't like the idea of games based on real wars, it just doesn't sit right with me. I'm all for shooting zombies or aliens, but when you're getting entertainment from something like a simulation of WW2, that just seems very wrong.
June 23, 201313 yr Titanfall looks amazing what you going on about?! I think Xbox one had better exclusives then the PS4. There's nothing special about it, it's just another Halo game with a fancy name. They tried revamping it by adding some mechs and stuff but it's still the same old thing. It's meant to be next gen, bring something new to the table. If I wanted a mech shooter I would play Binary Domain again as they already did a bloody good job of it and I doubt it will be topped anytime soon. If you like games like that then fair enough, I'll never understand why so many people like games like that personally. I just wish they wouldn't try and sell it as if it's something ground breaking, one of their devs said they were "treading on new grounds". I wasn't sure if he was being serious or not. PS4 has better exclusives for me, mainly cause Xbox's exclusives are either shooters or just generic QTE's fest. Also the PS3 exclusives that I didn't get to play such as Last of Us and Heavy Rain are a deciding factor for me. Edited June 23, 201313 yr by Remodez

Also the PS3 exclusives that I didn't get to play such as Last of Us and Heavy Rain are a deciding factor for me. I only just found out this morning that Titanfall is going to be online Multiplayer only. If you're into FPS games and own an Xbox not sure why you'd buy this over their new Halo, Battlefield 4, CoD: Ghosts or Destiny? As cool as big mech robots is, I doubt you get much playing time with them like with the aircraft's in Batlefield games. The Playstation exclusives for PS3 were among the best games I've played, The Last of Us is possibly the best game I've ever played. All 3 Uncharted's were great, God of War 3 was a brilliant button masher, inFamous 1 & 2 were nice takes on the "superhero" genre and Heavy Rain was really unique and I haven't played anything like it before. Also Little Big Planet is a nice little platformer as well. Xbox is really going to have to serve up some sublime exclusives for the Xbox One to justify being more expensive than the PS4 but based on history alone I'm banking on the PS4 to continue to have the better and more diverse exclusives.

Why waste time on a single player campaign when the real money is to be made on the multiplayer? Says a lot about them that they couldn't even be bothered to at least make up a generic single player campaign. Let's not forget this is a game that's being portrayed as their best, they are selling it hard as some sort of flagship for the Xbox One. Exactly, at least Halo and Battlefield have a lot more substance. Have to agree, I actually regretted not having a PS3 when they just kept on coming out with great exclusives. They have set the bar really high and I don't see them slipping anytime soon. As for Xbox, well I wouldn't hold my breath.
June 27, 201313 yr Any of you pre-ordering PS4? im pretty sure it will sell like butter over here so once a bundle is out with 2 games or something similiar im thinking about just ordering it - would love to find a option where you pay when its released though and not miles in advance.
June 27, 201313 yr PS3 wins the battle with Xbox hands down on this generation of consoles, better hardware than Xbox. They both have good exclusives but ultimately PS4 is the more powerful machine, Sony are taking forward steps where as Microsoft take one step forwards and 2 back by adding really stupid features. I have always owned a playstation, this doesn't really cloud my judgement as I'd always go for the one which has better capabilites, which again is playstation.
July 1, 201313 yr Looks like everyone's least favorite comb-over enthusiast, Don Mattrick, is jumping ship. http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/1/4483248/report-xbox-boss-don-mattrick-leaves-to-take-top-zynga-spot
July 1, 201313 yr Author I bought that Binary Domain thing earlier that someone recommended. Played about 10 minutes of it, not really enjoying it so far. I already hate that black guy, he never shuts the hell up. Controls and graphics all seem a bit... poor when compared to something like Mass Effect or similar games. Will have to see if I can be arsed to continue with it or not.
August 15, 201312 yr Xbox One delayed in 14 countries until 2014, thats including Sweden where I live - what a massive cock up, especially for those who have pre ordered already. Glad im getting the ps4.
August 15, 201312 yr Demand must be higher thsn expected because it will be so awesome ;) Ill buy one maybe in a year or twos time, when the price drops to a sensible one.

I felt the same when I first played it too (about the black guy that is, I thought the graphics were pretty amazing personally especially with regards to the background/surroundings and bosses, they put a lot of detail into it) but it quickly grew on me. Did you carry on or give up? Edited August 15, 201312 yr by Remodez

It's said to be because of translation coding issues or something! Probably because they've reversed most of the features they announced at the reveal. Honestly, it's not even the same console anymore.

August 16, 201312 yr If they are delayed in other countries then i might buy a couple and sell them on ebay.
August 16, 201312 yr Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland are the delayed countries!
August 16, 201312 yr Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland are the delayed countries! Thing is, the console isn't region locked is it? So if you really wanted one just get it imported from the nearest country that has them from the release date.
August 16, 201312 yr I'm not sure if they removed the region lock or not, was there to begin with though!
August 16, 201312 yr I'm not sure if they removed the region lock or not, was there to begin with though! They've reversed it (like most other stuff) Microsoft director of marketing Albert Penello has explained that the Xbox One delay was due to implementing voice support for various languages into the dashboard. When a NeoGAF user postulated that Microsoft was discouraging importing because it wanted to make sure there were enough copies left for those in supported territories, Penello responded, "launch volumes are not really an issue. This was simply a software issue in terms of getting local language and voice support in the dash. It's pretty straightforward, but disappointing I know for people who are missing launch." "Obviously, I support people waiting for the official supported launch in the affected markets for the best experience," he added. He also noted that all games are "worldwide signed" i.e. region-free, unlike Xbox 360 titles, and "the console will work everywhere (keeping in mind power supplies)." "You can use one of the 13 digital marketplaces corresponding to our launch markets, assuming you have a valid payment instrument for those countries. Lots of people in Europe specifically travel, move, and visit family," he continued before slyly adding "Now, of course, if you were using Pre-Paid cards..." http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-08-15-microsoft-explains-how-xbox-one-importing-could-work
August 16, 201312 yr Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland are the delayed countries! Good, neutral bar stewards.
August 17, 201312 yr When we return to the US, I'll get both my son and I PS4's. He just got his PS3 last Christmas (he didn't really want one since he had his Xbox blinders on), but since getting it he has no interest in his Xbox at all. I still have one of the PS3s that play PS2 games... Not that I have any PS2 games. Edited August 17, 201312 yr by Arq
August 17, 201312 yr I've got both Xbox and PS3 and I've always preferred the PS3, it just seems quicker and smoother. I will get the PS4 no doubt. One thing that bothers me though. I may be wrong, but there seems to be so many more young twats on XBL compared to PSN. I hope, with many staunch Xbox'ers now opting for PS4, that PSN doesn't start to resemble something from the playground.
