Chelsea in 10 Years

Featured Replies

Will we have a new 60k stadium? Rewin the Champions League / Premier League? Will any players in our team now still be here? Will Roman still be in charge? Do you think we will still be in the premier league? Will we have a stable manager?

As a supporter since 1996 if you told me in 10 years, we would have won the premier league twice, be one of the best clubs in Europe and have one of the greatest managers managing us, I would have laughed!

Where do you think Chelsea will be in 10 years?

Personally, I reckon we will have a shiny new stadium. King Zola Arena?

Mata will still be here at the ripe old age of 35. Chalobah will be our captain and I reckon we would have regained the premier league at least once. Maybe not the CL. and of course Jose will be at the helm!

Random thread I know, but curious to what everyone thinks.

Its too hard to say. Who would have thought 15 years ago that a rich Russian would buy us and turn us into one of the worlds best teams? Same goes for City.

Whats to say that Roman decides that he is tired of pumping money into us and just sits back.

15 years ago or so Newcastle and leeds were top teams and Arsenal were champions now there are a laughing stock.

I know its just a bit of fun to think what could happen but in football you never know what is going to happen.

We need to keep winning, or come very close to winning the PL and CL consistently each season to remain a force a la Manure, Real, Barca, Bayern, Inter etc. If we don't manage that, we'll fade in to obscurity like Arse, Leeds or Liverdrool.

I am optimistic that we will manage though - we're going through a 'changing of the guard' at the moment and we have excellent potential.

Continued success will fund improvements to the squad year-on-year, as Roman loses interest and begins taking a return on his investment.

In 10-years I see us in a new stadium with Frank and JT as staff and Luiz and Cahill still here. We will have won the CL at least twice more and the PL at least 5 times. Mourinho as manager...

After missing out on CL qualification, losing in the Carling Cup to the gooners and having the FA Cup run cut short Benitez is given a 3 year contract,he brings in steven Gerrard as Torres complains about service, Benitez organises a ground share with Liverpool and the Chelsea fans complain about travelling to home games, Benitezs Tie matches the seats in the dugout nicely, sitting in twelth place in october the owner fearing the November slump sacks the FSW and sends him off with 15m in his fraudulent back pocket.

Zola comes in and turns things around, second in the league and an FA Cup means he is sacked so as a new man can come in and get a pre seaon with the group.

August fast approaching and nobody has accepted the offer to work with Emanelo so the season starts with michael as interim coach, players complain that netball games are not enough to get them match fit and the training sessions are mocked by the boys.

Beaten soundly by the newly promoted teams emanelo is sacked and he walks away with 15m and JT  at last is given the Job...the fans are jubilant and the team is playing as a unit with a passion and will to win not seen since the glory days of Di Matteo, a rapid climb up the table sees an uncanny referees performance result in a loss to UTD and the title is out of reach, quarter final of the CL and a superb Real madrid side edge chelsea on away goals, Mourinho and JT enjoy a bottle of wine after JT is sacked in the Real Tunnel and the new interim (Gerrard)  is given the task of regrouping the boys who are upset at JTs dismissal.

New season starts and Gerrard tells the fans to "calm down" protests at the home games and shouts of sack the starfish are met with silence from the board but seven games in and only 2 points is enough for the knee jerks to start again...Gerrard pockets 18m and is sent on his way.

The Interim appointment is taking a long time to get in place so Abramovic appoints himself as Manager, Relegation threatens as another 7 games go by with no points and Abramovic is himself under scrutiny, after a 15th game with no goals Torres points the finger at the midfield and is openly critical of the service he recieves.

Abramovic decides to buy Alonso although he has been out of form recently, no improvement for Torres who explains to Abramovic that the blue kit makes it difficult for Alonso to pick him out and Abramovic decides to have the boys play in Red.

etc...etc...etc...

You do realise that Cahill will be 37 and David Luiz 35 right ? i really don't think that's going to happen.

If we win 2 champions league titles and 5 prem titles in the next 10 years then i won't be complaining

Petr Cech goalkeeper coach.

Didier Drogba Assistant Manager

Lampard, coach

John Terry, Manager

Reuinited to take on the world.

This is a thread that should be archived once we get everyones thoughts! Something to look back on!!

I think we'll be just about moved into a new stadium, and possibly under a different owner.

I think we'll have won another 4 league titles by then and 1 European cup.

We will have went through 6 full time managers.

The stadium move is vital to where we will be in 10 years, if FFP is to be effective then we will need to match the Uniteds' Arsenals ect in terms of capacity crowds.

I can't even think where we will be 3 weeks from now never mind 10 years lol.

So much changes in football, that's it's pretty hard to predict long term things like this.

Jose mourinho comes back, is given a ten year contract with full control over team affairs. He urges the cpo to agree to sell their shares and we move into our new home of battersea powerstation. We become a major force in world football after saf retires, even one to match barca and real. Our academy begins to churn out a new star every season and we no longer pay over the odds for past it strikers. One can only dream

We finally get a manager who's given time. Very few of the first team will be here. If any. All would be past their prime. Just hope Hazard doesn't go off to Madrid or Barca. Mata will have hung up his boots by 35. Or have gone back to Spain. 3 of our current academy products make it to the first team.

2 Champions league titles and 3 or 4 premier league titles 4 Fa cups and 3 league cups. We don't have idiots in the board. Roman cuts the spending a little.

Jt is back in some form of coaching role...

If Roman's still in charge, we will be looking forward to welcoming our 30th manager appointed under his reign.

We will be playing in some sort of European super league.

And with the rise of smart phones, tablets & 4G,who needs a 60,000 stadium?.

You can have all the action & 'atmosphere' beamed straight to your mobile device, (for a large fee) of course.

We will still question if player 'A' is really worth a million quid a week.

Oh,& Nando Dorris book, 'How Chelsea Ruined me' will still be available for a quid at the bargain bucket book shop.

I think we'll either be in a new stadium or at least see Stamford Bridge updated.

We will have gone through a plethora of managers again, and dare I say a few years of Arsenal like (Top 4 will do) seasons.

I still don't think any one manager will last more than 2 seasons with us in the next ten years.

Ideally I'd like to see Frank get his coaching badges and return to the club in a Coaching capacity.

In ten years, I'd be dreaming if I think we'll win the CL again, but it's not impossible but is dependent on some manager stability.  I could see a couple of decent runs in the CL again, probably butting heads with Barca again.

Maybe another League title in there would be good, but I expect in the next 10 years it will continue to be a battle between the Mancs with us popping in now and again.

However, two things to think about especially when it comes to opposition:

What if another Abramovich comes along and invests heavily into say a team like Arsenal and suddenly they compete rather than just appease the Accountants?

And, we also have to think in the next ten years we'll see the retirement of Alex Ferguson which poses the question of whether or not his successor will be as immediately successful.

It is midway through the 2021/2022 season, the team currently in a period of transition is in a major slump of form and is on the verge of being knocked out in the round of 16 in the Champions League. Our promising young manager, referred to in the media as "the overhyped one", has fallen out with the old guard of Oscar, Hazard, Lukaku, Courtois, KDB and Chalobah,

Roman loses patience and sacks our cocky young Portuguese manager, and appoints his assistant Didier Drogba as interim manager until the end of the season. He goes on to lead the team on an extraordinary CL run, culminating with a final against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Their manager David Moyes, and his increasingly purple nose, have no answer for Lukaku's fantastic display of power up front as Drogba instructs him via earpiece on his every move.

All is going well at half-time as we lead 2-0, until Roman heads down to the dressing room and commands Drogba to bring on our other striker. 38 year old Fernando Torres struts onto the pitch and scores a hat trick of own goals. Following the final goal, a streaker clambers onto the pitch and hugs El Nino, celebrating the culmination of plan that has been in place for over a decade. The streaker is identified as Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.

Following the loss, DD is sacked as manager and replaced by Steven Gerrard who is awarded a lifetime contract. Chelsea Football Club disbands shortly after.
