May 20, 201313 yr Not sure if anyone posted the post match interviews of Lukaku & Clark on this site. I am sure you good Blue Fans will like what you see & hear. Bring Da Fridge back to Da Bridge!!!
May 20, 201313 yr Ba is a load of crap. I've no idea why we bought him in Jan. Should've just recalled Lukaku and saved £7m and Ba's wages! Hope we can offload Ba in the summer to PSG, his 'dream' club, he's not Chelsea, he's a mercenary. We need a world class striker, either Falcao or Cavani, not Rooney and no more mediocre players!! Absolute bullsh*t, Lukaku didn't want to come back in January and Ba was one of the top scorers in the league at the time and for £7mil it was a good deal. Calling him a mercenary is ridiculous, he moved from a team battling relegation to a team challenging for cups and a top 4 finish, what idiot would turn down that chance? And also, we brought him because we had one striker in the team and he was underperforming to say the least. Count yourself lucky that I even responded to this absolute pile of tripe. May 20, 201313 yr Only the third player to score an EPL hattrick against Manchester UnitedThe other two players you ask?David Bentley and Dirk Kuyt.

Not to mention he got a spiffy little medal for winning the Europa league with a team he couldn't play with in the competition. The things dreams are made off. But seriously, he's a good solid player...and if the team starts playing consistently, and actually involving the strikers in more play, he'll do a job.
May 20, 201313 yr Just checked his statistics and stumbled upon this stat: Weight 100,2kg. He is the heaviest player in the prem Fridge is right..just thinking about someone like Koscielny who Lukaku will brush aside like a small flea.

May 20, 201313 yr Yeah, this was from the first league game vs Looserpool. Carragher absolutely floored there.
May 20, 201313 yr Having just turned 20 and already this good, we may be on the countdown to another record goalscoring chaser in a few years.
May 20, 201313 yr Kristof Terreur ?@HLNinEngeland Romelu #Lukaku says on Belgian tv he'll hold talks with CFC's new boss (read Mourinho) "If I'm a part of his plans, I'll seize my chance."

May 20, 201313 yr I was thinking this about Lukaku: If West Brom had singed a 19 year old whose playing style and overall contribution was that of Lukaku's and also scored 17 league goals in his debut season, we would be linking ourselves with potentially signing him.

Yes, we will spend 20+ millions to sign him, then bench him for the rest of the season. I really hope (pray) we dont sign 2 strikers and loan him out again.
May 21, 201313 yr Carjacker being dominated by both the old and new Drogba. No wonder he retired. To quote Robert Murtaugh: "I'm too old for this sh*t!" Edited May 21, 201313 yr by Maksimov
May 21, 201313 yr Two scenarios for Chelsea: Trust the trio Ba, Torres & Lukaku OR buy a world class striker like Cavani, Lewa or Falcao and loan out Lukaku. If I was Chelsea I'd risk nothing and go for world class. There is no sense for Romelu to come sit on our bench at that age and form. Risk nothing? of course our success rate for buying world class strikers is top draw, NOT.
May 21, 201313 yr Came on in the second half to rip United to pieces. We don't need a new striker. We just need to bring him back. I had a look on Redcafe's match thread to see if it was a great performance or if the numbers flattered to deceive: I can't imagine other fans saying that about anyone we currently have on our books. That brings his season total to 17 league goals and 4 assists. Also a few comments regards Benteke v Lukaku Lukaku is a much bigger talent. I am terrified of Chelsea for next season, and in years to come. Lukaku and Courtois will haunt us for years to come. Lukaku has more potential than him and ultimately will be better. It scares me to think that Chelsea can have another Drogba for more than 10 years. He made the defence sh*t themselves every time he got the ball, they didn't know whether to back off or close him down. Every time in the box our defenders just bounced off him. There's also no chance of Mourinho selling Lukaku. He tried for ages to get him to sign for Madrid. He rates him massively and has never had anything but good things to say about Lukaku and his father. Lukaku is the prototype Mourinho style forward. Imposing, big, strong, able to hold the ball up and occupy two defenders to give him an extra midfielder between the lines. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him in a blue shirt next season if Jose returns. Lukaku for me the way Phil Jones bounced off him the other day was scary - definitely shades of Drogba
May 21, 201313 yr If we loan him out for another season I can only see him requesting a permanent move. I don't know how talk of him being unrefined can have any kind of depth? For him to filter out, surely the best thing we can do as a club is to surround him with world class players? He is almost perfect for the premier league, we could spend our money more wisely. I have reservations about the 50 million pound strikers adapting to the EPL. Get Lukaku in a spread money over getting a world class DM and RB Edited May 21, 201313 yr by A.D.S.

May 21, 201313 yr Lukaku's early Chelsea career reminds me of Forssell's. Great early promise, gets loaned to a Premiership club where he does the business, but it might not be enough to convince Chelsea.

May 21, 201313 yr Source? I don't know Lane's source, but this is the first one I came across after a quick google: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8091041/Jose-Mourinho-and-Real-Madrid-rival-Chelsea-for-new-Didier-Drogba.html I know, it doesn't have a quote from Jose, but IF it's true, then it's a good sign for Lukaku IF Jose does come back.

'It is true we wanted Romelu, but he has a very clever dad," said Mourinho. "He wants Romelu to stay at Anderlecht for one more year. I wish all dads were like this."
