I remember reading somewhere that when Romelu's friends use to out out on the town he would stay behind at home watching and re-watching DVD's of himself, looking for the areas he can improve.

He's a top professional and if we don't end up signing the Cavani's and Falcao's this summer then I wouldn't mind giving him a run of games as our No. 1.

Me neither. Although have to be said haven't seen a game where he played since that game to be honest. Actually latter part of that Liverpool-WBA game but that is not a good game to judge him as Liverpool were chasing, they were stretched and tired.

I always said my ambition was to play for Chelsea, and now I will go back to Stamford Bridge and try and play even more games than I did at West Brom. If I can score a few early on, it can turn into a really good season for me.

I have had a good conversation with Jose Mourinho, and I know it's up to me to show I'm worth a place. It is the World Cup next year, and I need to be playing. But if I don't get in the Chelsea team often enough, then I won't deserve to be in the national squad.

I am not afraid of that. I am determined to succeed with Chelsea next season. I want to prove myself. People will compare me with Didier Drogba, and he was always my hero. But I am my own man, and I want to be known for what I do.

Exactly right, where he and KdB should be. Given their chances to prove themselves and if they do well enough they should stay in the team.

Looks like we're going to have four strikers next season.

 

1) New Signing

2) Torres (saying he's staying at Chelsea)

3) Lukaku

4) Ba

 

Hard to see how Lukaku is going to get much playing time. Don't see Mourinho sticking with Torres though.

If we do sign a new striker then I'd much rather Lukaku get the playing time as second choice. Ba has been in woeful form for us, something like two goals in 14 games, and Torres, as you say, will hopefully be getting no game-time. Neither them will be improving any time soon as well while Lukaku can only get better.

That is in a 4-2-3-1 , In a 4-4-2 Cavani and Lukaku are able to play together , Cavani as a deep striker , Lukaku around him in a more free roll.

I originally thought it would be silly to get a new striker in, but after thinking about it I don't see why it would be, Lukaku will get plenty of game time if he performs and we all know that Jose won't play somebody just because of who they are.

If we do bring in Cavani(or someone else), I hope we do get rid of Torres. He's even more hopeless than usual when he's a bit part player. It would be better for everyone that he moved to a club where he would be a clear first choice and get a fresh start. Maybe in another league.

we cant sell ba, under fifa rules players can only transfer once per calendar year. I think the rule came in after robert jarni signed for coventry, and then week later coventry made a tidy profit and sold him the real madrid.

If we sign cavani, I would loan ba out, I know he hasnt had much of a chance but he was only ever a stop gap, and to keep him in the squad instead of lukaku would be pointless.

Torres wont be going anywhere as no club will meet his asking price, and pay his wages.

Pleased Lukaku is staying, Jose will improve him and lets be honest he has bags of potential and will fit in with our preferred formation. I also expect us to sign another top striker and off load Ba or torres. Its going to be a good season and no silly substitutions to ruin your Saturday evening!

as much as i want torres gone I think cavani, lukaku, and torres offer more variety. Although torres wages are too much for a 3rd choice striker, I dont think we will have much option.
