Came on in the second half to rip United to pieces.  We don't need a new striker.  We just need to bring him back.  I had a look on Redcafe's match thread to see if it was a great performance or if the numbers flattered to deceive:

Those comments are giving ME the goosebumps, i havent seen that much of lukaku, and im truly enjoying hearing everyone praising him.

I would rather Lukaku than Ba next season.

hahahaha a hatrick in the second half in Fergie's last game to draw the game 5-5,you couldn't make it up.

It was a perfect hat trick too.  Headed his 3rd over the line in the melee.  First goal was Right Foot, second was Left foot.

Someone posted a picture a while ago about all of Fergie's recent losses and poor record being against Chelsea, well you can add Lukaku ruining his final game with a 2nd half hatrick, and Chelsea beating his successor in his final game to that list!

Just can't imagine Jose sending him on loan after the types of performances he has made off the bench for West Brom, he is just the perfect player to bring on at half time to change a match. Even tonight a lot was made of how Lukaku turned the game around after coming on as a sub.

Our money would be better invested in central midfield and central defence IMO.  Spending 50m+ on a star striker would not help us as much as bringing the Belgiums home and strengthening our other weaknesses.

It depends who comes in as manager and if Torres goes. Lets say Mourinho comes in, can you see him not giving Lukaku chances? I can't, he's a classic Mourinho centre-forward with that raw power. Our defenders were falling over when he was 5 yards away from him, he's going to be some player.

But yes, if no one at Chelsea shows confidence in him he should get out. He's had a seriously good season for a striker at his age and finished it by scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United. Looks like the prospect he was dubbed as in Belgium again.

Yet another big physical player who destroys our side.

Well that's a bloody good signing. He's borderline unplayable at his best, an intimidating prospect if he led the line for you lot next year.

I really hope Torres is somehow on his way out of Chelsea, I see him as the major block to a Lukaku return. It would be perfect timing to sell Torres atm with the last games he has had, like it was last season when he became topscorer in EM 2012. I doubt it will happen though and I don't think Chelsea will trust Torres enough again, that they wouldn't buy a world class striker like Lewandowski/Cavanni/Falcao.

I don't think we have seen enough of Ba game to game to judge if he is or is not good enough.

As it stands he and Torres don't have enough goals in them to win a PL so we need Lukaku and possible another proven goal scorer to help the cause.

Moving Torres on will be nigh on possible due to wages and length of contract while Ba won't want to go so soon and then you have to take into account the new managers plans which may include anyone tbh.

When they last won a title they had Adebayor as a 3rd "option"   Besides Cronaldo is somewhat of a striking option 

- Ba won't leave just half year after he was signed, he is to mediocre to be anything other then third choice though.

-The board/next manager won't trust Torres as a first choice again next year

-Lukaku will also be a risk as first choice, but he is the most solid second choice you can get atm.

-99% sure we will buy a world class striker for next year.

 

Conclusion: Torres stands in the way of a Lukaku return.

i honestly think he can be our main striker next season

 

yeah his movement may be better and his first touch too (which btw, isnt nearly as bad some are saying) but he negates all that with his ridiculous physical abilities and workrate

Besides Cronaldo is somewhat of a striking option 

 

well, you can say the same for mata and lampard. 12 and 15 goals in the league, respectively
