Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

During the game it was an OG but others had it down as his goal.

I hate that rule anyway, if the player hit's it towards goal and it goes in then it's their goal.

Who cares if it takes a nick off someone?

Sky credited it to Diego.

I dunno sometimes it is but Costa's shot wasn't going in so I think it was an own goal personally.

I don't see the need for it though.

The defender or keeper is hardly going to want that against them and the attacking player is obviously trying to either score or get the ball into a danger area so what's the harm crediting them with the goal?

It's just daft IMO.

I think he's the best player in the league and in my opinion he deserves it, but I can see why people would rather Kane win it. Young English striker has a bit of a disaster with all the teams he was loaned to, comes back to the club that he supports, gets his chance and scores 30 goals in his first season, scores two against Chelsea, a late winner against Arsenal, caps off his England debut with a goal after 80 seconds. Coupled with the fact that he's generally a likeable guy and it's difficult to dislike him, it's sort of a heroic story and that's why unfortunately he will win it

If Aguero hadn't got injured when he had he'd have won it, IMO.

A world class player and it was all coming together for him, everything was clicking, it was actually pretty scary, and pretty breathtaking.

He's yet to get into his stride since his return ..

Thank god.

Hazard deserves it, no question.

Kane will get it, no question.

Hazard is favourite amongst the media and the bookies. I think he'll get it unless Kane scores another load before the end of the season.

That's quite worrying, could really hinder his chances of winning the award if he doesn't play to his best because of tiredness. Also, more importantly, could make our title challenge more difficult

Player of the Year should be given to a player who has made a difference.

Harry Kane leading Tottenham to the same position they always finish? No thanks.

What scares me is if he feels he doesn't have the right players round him, if he has to defend too much, if we do mediocre in Europe we will lose this top payer...I like mou's everybody defends philosophy however to be the best in the eyes of the world and the media unfortunately it's goals and assists not what you do for the team...he is ambitious wants to be the new messi, I'm scared we will lose out to one of the Europe glory teams...top player, top man...would be a real shame

Agreed right up until that last sentence.

He has just signed a lengthy new contract with us, so I think those fears are pretty unfounded.

Hazard could still win both POTS and young player but I'd be inclined to give Kane the young player simply because he's the type of player who should get that award (21, breakout season).

But Hazard is almost certain to win it if he continues his form and we win the league.
