Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Eden is on Friday Night Live with Azpi on Chelsea TV at 6:30pm

If you can stomach Chelsea TV for an hour, might be worth watching

Eden is brilliant as he is. Don't make those comparisons. Hazard is Hazard and Messi is Messi. If you want to have a Messi go and buy him.

THen he will never win the Ball on d'or, because the next Ronny or Messi, will be discovered, plus Neymar will get one first!

Marked out the game mostly they doubled up on him throughout and that's when you need your other attacking players to step up and take control and responsibility.... Sadly none of them did.

That's been what I've worried about all season. The big teams aren't stupid, they'll kick the sh*t out of Hazard and double-up on him because we don't have an attacking threat on the right-wing apart from Ivanovic. The refs need to protect him but we need Willian and Cuadrado to actually draw some of the attention away from him.

Willian looked off the pace to me last night, the energy levels we are used to seeing weren't there and he seemed to spend more time sitting deep in our half then pushing forward.

He looked to hobble off at the end but if he was carrying an injury going into the game then I don't think he should have started.

I've said it in the Cuadrado thread, I'm a little unsure of him right now... I know he's only played a very small amount of football so far but I don't know if he's going to bring anything like what Hazard does on the left.

With no Oscar last night, we looked a bit short on ideas on the occasions when we were in the final third.

Nevin pointed this out in one of his pieces.

Is quite worried by the protection Hazard isn't getting and that it could hamper him in future years.

It was a complete joke the amount of fouls on him and it took till 70 odd minutes for Veratti to get booked although he must have had about half a dozens fouls on hazard by then.

Willian was one of the five players Jose said was injured - surprisingly Ramires wasn't.

Cuadrado looked decent in his one start so I'm happy to be patient with him. Start him against Burnley and see how he goes.

Think Oscar was a big miss for us, but again he was apparently unable to train leading up to the match. I just like having another ball-playing midfielder there and it's not like he doesn't get stuck in defensively.

That's exactly what I thought - Eden had two or three players by him a lot of the time.  So why weren't the others finding the space left?

Hate to say it, but I think Eden has to start complaining more to get players in the book when they go in hard on him.

He just gets up and gets on with it.

Yeah I am noticing this.

Fair play to the lad but it seems more and more are getting away with it.

Too many players didn't show up. Costa was awful, Fabregas, Willian and Ramires all anonymous. PSG dominated the midfield and there was a lack of energy about the team, despite the rest. Was looking forward to a really intense performance with Costa rested and Fabregas back. Even though it was obviously a decent result, the performance was poor.
