On serious note, I actually think we have a really good chance. My only worry is the defense, but Jose will sort that out so I would consider us at least joint favorites with Madrid and Bayern.

It depends, Champions League is a strange one, I don't think you can be favourites, it's just that sort of tournament. If we find ourselves in the Semi final like we were last season, by all means we go for it.

 

As of now we focus on the league. The Champions League for me right now is take it one at at time we will face PSG when they come up, it's not something I'm really waiting for to be honest, I'm more concerned about the league fixtures I think Jose is also.

I'm not, this is typical Chelsea. We tend not to have our big players signing contracts in the middle of the season. They either happen before the season begins or after it finishes. There is no chance he is going anywhere anytime soon.

Well Barca have their transfer ban and Real have Ronaldo and Bale and are also supposedly going to sign Reus, so I don't think that is the case.

 

I'm pretty sure he'll sign a new deal in the summer when he would still have 2 years left on his contract.

If he does leave then I guess with the money we get, reus would have to be an option. Obviously, I hope to god he doesn't leave any time soon.

There isn't a lot of loyalty left in the game, so I would not be surprised if he did leave, but we can't afford to lose him. Maybe the prospect of his brother joining the squad next season could persuade him to stay.

I very much doubt he would consider another premiership team.

 

Therefore realistically there are only four potential suitors - PSG, Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern

 

Out of those Barcelona already has Neymar in that left wing spot and unless he desperately wants to play under Guardiola i can't see him going to Bayern.  The league is not as good and although they maybe slightly bigger it would be a sideways move.

 

Therefore it's either Madrid or PSG.  I don't know if the lure of money, Paris and french speaking would be enough for what would be arguably a downward move to PSG.  I think it's important we beat them in the Champions League to establish ourselves as a top four power in Europe.

 

That leaves Madrid.  Even though they are stacked, with them......anything is possible.

Zola, I've seen you say that he's going to leave before I believe. Is there any reason for this other than 'Madrid get any player they want'? Does he seem like a player who is not very loyal?

 

I would be willing to bet that he'll be here in 5 years time, never mind 2 years.

I think people are getting a bit carried away with this whole contract thing, he WILL sign a new deal. Our big players sign contracts at the beginning or the end of the season, it's how we do things.

 

Hazard won't be going anywhere for some time. He won't leave until he has a nice handful of trophies with us.

 

Also, why do the papers keep saying he may go to PSG ? he has already said he would never go back to France because he has nothing left to achieve there.

Id lose respect for Hazard if he went back to the French league to PSG it would be just about money. If he goes to Real Madrid then fair enough but not PSG.
