Per Trevor Stevens commentating last weekend, he reckoned he's the best right back in the premiership by a country mile and that's before he scored.........always dangerous at set pieces in opposition box and consistently clears from same in defensive duties....brave like JT in that he will throw himself at any shot...........

 

but lets remember he's a centrehalf playing right back, course he'll have his faults going forward and with his crossing,  also defensively against 'some' speedy wingers (not many though as he's pretty fast & strong too) ...

 

his control and dribbling skills are much better than say Cahill/Zouma....JT even......not to mention many more supposedly proper right backs in other teams in premieship.....

I was watching it on a dodgy stream but it looks like he's in trouble, and if he is, he's only got himself to blame.

Didn't the referee book him for his involvement in the incident? If so I don't think further action can be taken.

I stand corrected, according to the sky website he wasn't . The referee was throwing cards around like confetti after I thought Ivan had picked one up.

why is it that if a player shoves another player when play is stopped it is either no action or at most a yellow card.

 

Yet if you put your head against someone else's it's a red card and 3 match ban.  It was not a headbutt and it can't be a violent action without any violence.

 

After recent actions (RVP, Pearson) if the FA do suspend him i have to start thinking that there is a clear lack of consistency and this "campaign" may not be so outrageous.

But why put your head forward like that? Not actually a headbutt but the forward motion is there and that's been enough in the past to get a ban hasn't it?
