I reckon Chalobah, Ake, De Bruyne, Lukaku and Wallace have a good chance - the first two cos they appear to be genuinely highly rated by the club, the last three because of the money spent on them...

 

that doesn't mean I don't rate all the others...piazon for example looks quality, but I'm not sure where there is room for him to play and I can just see him being sold for a profit, maybe as part of a deal to sign Isco...

romeu has suffered a major injury and there is always a doubt about how that will effect someone and I fear Feruz won't be given a chance as we will continue to sign top strikers...

None of them have a "genuine" chance.

 

The step up from youth team or even performing well on loan at a Championship side to then making the step up to the Chelsea squad is massive. 

 

A few names on your list such as Lukaku, KDB, Piazon and Romeu shouldn't be on that list in my opinion because they aren't progressing from our youth ranks and being developed/nurtured in the same way as the others. 

 

Of the rest I would say Josh really needs to up his game where ever he ends up next season because after a promising start to his loan spell at Boro from what I understand he has faded a bit in the last couple of months, he really needs to find that next step in his performances to convince the club he can develop into a rounded midfield player.

 

I think he has been overtaken by Chalobah with regards to promise and he is another player who I expect to go on loan again next season, if he can maintain the level of performance he has had this year (maybe playing for Watford in the Premier League, who knows) then he will be making a strong case to be involved in the squad in 2 years time. 

Voted for KDB, Lukaku, Chalobah, Piazon, Romeu, Hazard, Ake and Wallace, in that order.

 

Don't know enough about Cuevas or Davila to say, but I know we bought both of them from south America so who knows how good they are.

Kalas is actually looking very promising, saw a quote from him recently saying that he needs another loan to a PL or Bundesliga team next season because the gap between Vitesse and Chelsea is too big.

 

I don't want to vote as I get overly optimistic about youth. Honestly we have some fantastic players coming through our youth team but with the way we do things, they aren't going to get chances. Our striker situation is a prime example:

We have an absolute beast of a 19 year old putting up incredible figures at West Brom, and a 17 year old who has just finished the NextGen as the top scorer, yet 90% of fans want us to spend £50m on a striker who will push them both down the pecking order and prevent them getting game time for the next 5 years.

Unfortunately very few, one of the biggest obstacles, unlike in Spain, is the fact we are not allowed to have a B-team play in the Championship or league 1 where we could continue with the club's philosophy and build a natural stepping stone from the B side to the 1st team. Sending players out on loan is okay, but we are still at the mercy of those clubs to play our youngsters and of course the style of the club is also an important element. By all accounts the new u21 league (old reserves) has not been what many in the club was hoping for.

And finally will our manager ever be in the situation where he is able to experiment and give for example Feruz or Saville an extended run in the side without being axed if results are affected.

This is an almost impossible question to answer and I wouldn’t put hard earned cash on any of them making – not at Chelsea.

 

The reasons have been gone over many times – lack of continuity in management (and long-term vision), demand for immediate and constant success + almost unlimited transfer funds. I don’t think it matters how good a youngster may be we will not show faith in any of them and always prefer to buy the finished article.

 

There was a good discussion with Durham and Gough on Talksport as I was driving home last night and Durham was singing the praises of McEachran having watched him the night before, albeit in a drab goaless draw. He said you could see Josh was a cut above everyone else on the pitch and he was too good for that standard of football. He should be playing football in the premiership and not getting dragged down to Championship level – no matter how good the experience might be for his development. He went on to question our signing of Oscar which is a fair point. Don’t get me wrong, Oscar is quality and great to have in the squad but as good as he has been at times, there have equally been a fair number of games where he’s hardly got a kick. Brilliant against Juve, can boss the game for Brazil but can go missing against Southampton. It’s what you would expect from a youngster and what I’m getting at is McEachran (had he been given the chance) would be the same – great in some matches – others passing him by. What I would have liked to have seen is McEachran and Oscar being alternated, ditto for Mikel and Chalobah and Lukaku and Ba/Torres. That’s what I hope for next season but with yet another new manager and our track record I won’t hold my breath.

 

It’s all very well taking the easy option and sending them out on loan but what’s the point if they never get a proper chance with the club who should be playing them? Just imagine how disillusioned some of our youngsters must get when they think they are making good progress and are receiving plenty of plaudits and yet they see yet more players bought in for big money.

 

I would honestly be glad to go without a trophy for a season or few if in a couple of years time I was seeing the likes of Chalobah, McEachran, Boga and Feruz getting game time alongside Mata, Ramires, Hazard & Co.

There's one player I'd like to see make it above all others ..

Ake, De Bruyne and Lukaku probably are most likely in the near future.

 

If Boga carries on the way he's been going, he'll be one hell of a player. Never seen anyone glide past people with such ease. Really hope he makes it.

Im surprised Boga, Baker and Cheek are not included in the list and some well unknown guys are. I think the current crop of young players are as good as any and have had the privilege to fully use our great facilities at Cobham since the very early age. Also having seen all of the NextGen games from the youngsters I have to say Kiwomya seems like a talent. I would not consider Feruz even in the Top3 of that squad to be honest.

 

From other names I must say only Chalo and Rom for me. De Bruyne might be sort of a Moses or Marin type of player next season who gets a game here and there but not be a first choice. DM and striker are two positions that will be problematic in the near future and these lads mentioned before might solve the problem to some extent.

I think it all depends on the manager and the owner. IF the owner said to the new manager that no matter what he will be the manager for the next three years but in that time he wants a new title winning team built using a number of youth mixed with our current star then i think we would see results BUT i have no doubts that our current owner would never do this. Its results that matter. The new manager will go out and buy because its his job on the line.

But I have liked the look of Patrick Bamford the centre forward from Nottingham ,he seems to have the lot ie two footed ,1st Touch ,goalscorer ,strength relative to age (19?) and will keep an eye on his progress.  I like the way he has gone straight out to play proper (for points football) rather than mess around in youth team football.

Honestly I think we've improved our youngsters chances in the last couple of years, and we have some quality players that need to be used. Players like Lukaku, McEachran, KDB, Feruz, Ake, Boga and Chalobah to name but a few who have great potential. I'd much rather the club gave these sorts of players a chance than buy players for £50m, but whether this will happen I don't know.

Seeing the way feruz played in the nextgen series i picked him .Chalobah counts as trained by the club which is important for european compititions i think .Lukaku and de bruyne have been really good on loan and kalas and van aanholt were good at a lower level of loan so im hopeful

I'd like to think within the next 1 (maximum 2) years these will get a fair crack at the first team:

Really wanted to put Josh in, but went for Lukaku, Challobah, Ake, De Byrune & maybe Feruz. I think Piazon might be used as a part of a move for Isco.

Start by only picking players we haven't signed for loads cash, my pick is;

Chalobah - classy on the ball, strong, mobile, confident and assured. Very good prospect

Baker - possible number 10, quick, good shot both feet, gets forward and can play quick and slick give and go. Bit cocky, but happy to tackle but looks like he could play any of the 3 behind the striker

Piazon - similar to baker but has that bit of Brazilian flair and composure

Lukaku was £18million so I'd Imagine he's bound to be set for the first team.

Chalobah looks class and just what we need in midfield.

Feruz looks quick and deadly but being ST he might have competition.

Apart from them I think the others will find it difficult maybe with the exception of de bruyne
