April 30, 201511 yr When we took the lead last night it lit a fire in Cesc he was just trying to create more goals. You can see this guy loves to play attacking football. While some players would try shooting from anywhere from the rush of blood. This guy is so composed he seems to play the right pass more often than not.
April 30, 201511 yr While some players would try shooting from anywhere from the rush of blood. This guy is so composed he seems to play the right pass more often than not. I was watching back out 2-2 game at Highbury back in the 04-05 season and he was the same then. Just an intelligent, calm, composed player.
April 30, 201511 yr Seriously, where has Eggy been does anyone know? Somebody made him into an omelette.
April 30, 201511 yr Not really my day today on the shedend, is it ? All we need is for you to praise the FSW and it's a hattrick of shocks.
April 30, 201511 yr Interesting last night. First-half, woeful, we deserved to be behind, their keeper didn't touch the ball once, whereas Leicester were threatening. Once again, for me, the problem was midfield, and that's the reason we have changed tactics since the new year. Simply put, we are lightweight. Fabregas alongside Matic was great until we got worked out a little bit, now it doesn't work as well. Maybe at home it does, against the weaker sides, but in the tougher games it's basically asking Matic to do the work of two men, which may explain why Matic went off the boil for a spell, he was basically having to work too hard. He was the key player, for a long time. Fabregas shone alongside Matic largely because of Matic, let's not mess about. Fabregas could show all his class in the deeper position because Matic was doing the business. Last night Jose did what he has seldom done in away games lately and that was to play Fabregas in the deeper role alongside Matic, and an old problem resurfaced. The problem we were having when we went through a dodgy spell away from home from the end of November to the beginning of Jan. Second-half Jose changed it, put Ramires alongside Matic and pushed Fabregas further forward, closer to the attackers. He played his best half for ages IMO, and that second-half performance from us is the best we've played in a long time, in a difficult fixture, away from home, coming from behind. The question now is what happens next season?

We can't drop Cesc because out with Hazard he's our most creative player but then that means who comes in to replace him in the deeper role?
April 30, 201511 yr Bring in a more suited player to play deep with Matic, move Cesc further up but then that would effect Oscar... We can't drop Cesc because out with Hazard he's our most creative player but then that means who comes in to replace him in the deeper role? Oscar has actually added some bite to that midfield which is why is was so nicely balanced when that trio were together. With him out of the team and Ramires on the right-wing for some reason we looked horrendously unbalanced in the first-half. If you want to move Fabregas further forward and bringing someone in who is more solid then we do have options. Ramires can be used there, but you lose a bit of nous. Zouma can come in and he's inproving all the time, and then there's this English wonderkid we have called Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Personally I don't think it's an issue next season. I expect Oscar, Fabregas and Matic to return to form but I'd hope that we would rotate them more with these other options so that they're not playing an insane number of minutes and can keep the good form going. The other problem with playing Fabregas deep last night was that he had no-one to hit the ball to behind Leicester's defence.
April 30, 201511 yr I've not seen much of RLC so I've no idea where he is best but hopefully he's the answer. We do need to rotate more as BD points out. Edited April 30, 201511 yr by Chelsbear
April 30, 201511 yr Cesc moved to number 10 in the second half and was involved in two of our 3 goals. Great player! After Mata left we had Oscar to create but he is not the kind of midfielder whose passing is as accurate and as well-timed as Cesc's or Mata's. He really made a difference this season. Glad he's ours!!
April 30, 201511 yr Yup Loftus Cheek should be the answer to our midfield next season. -----------Matic Cesc Loftus Would like to see this

April 30, 201511 yr The question now is what happens next season? Schneiderliin & Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be my answer for strenghening defenceive midfield.
April 30, 201511 yr Schneiderliin & Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be my answer for strenghening defenceive midfield. Yes!
April 30, 201511 yr If someone can get him a hat to wear on the pitch when he's holding the trophy*... that would be... magic. *if we win....... and a stick or two of celery. *if we win.

May 3, 201511 yr Looked fairly happy in the post-match interview with a Chelsea scarf wrapped around his head talking about how glad he was he came here.
May 3, 201511 yr Won more trophies in 9 months at Chelsea than he did in 8 years at Arsenal. Wowo I'm sure he wished that he joined chelsea from the beginning instead of Arsenal
May 3, 201511 yr After the Liverpool game I'd honestly send Cesc on an early holiday. Worked his socks off this season.
