The boy Traore ...

17 ?

When I hear that surname I usually think "Oh No"

I have seen enough of young Bertrand, this kid is the

next big thing. Effortless just is not the word, the boy

can become a star with the coaching of Jose.

Well impressed with Van Ginkel and De Bruyne and

with a bit more experience young Wallace and Kalas

will form the backbone of our defence for years to come.

You can see how the work of Emenalo bearing fruit under

Mourinho.

Something tells me not only do we have the best manager

in the world, we also are beginning to reveal the best young

talent in the world.

I always said we needed to pick up players as the likes of

Lyon, Barca' and Porto/Benfica do. Before transfer fees make

them impossible to buy. Lyon in particular have a habit of spotting

young talent.

Credit is due, when credit is indeed due, Michael Emenalo, once

ridiculed by me, this forum in general, even Jose, is proving to be

a very, very shrewd man, with an excellent eye for young talent.

The kid looks like he could become a superstar BUT i have two concerns. The first is he hasnt actually signed with us yet, he cant sign until September when he is 18 i believe. It is very possible that other teams will be in for him and making him very good offers. The second is we all thought Kakuta was going to be something very special when he burst on the scene but failed to live up to his first game in the first team and now it seems like we are just loaning him out till his contract ends.

Far too early to tell if he really is the lynchpin behind this, could be a number of people.... but I certainly like the direction we are going in.

Even if most of the young guys don't break into a regular first team place, the fact we are selling them on for profit to decent clubs will do wonders for our bank balance..... and it totally smashes the myth that we are a career destroyer for young players.

...we all thought Kakuta was going to be something very special when he burst on the scene but failed to live up to his first game in the first team...

You never know how these kids do. Just because some of them don't make it, doesn't mean we shouldn't sign this player.

Oh dont get me wrong we should be taking a chance on these kids, you never know how they will turn out. I just dont think people should get their hopes up just yet.

Saying that i think he looks like an amazing player so dont listen to me lol

I get your first point, but I firmly believe the 'Jose Factor' will play a big part in securing his future here. In Jeremy Boga we have a player who is also showing the signs of making a big impression in Chelsea colours. As for Kakuta unlike the two I mention he seems to lack the dedication and 'down to earth' attitude that turns a prospect into a player with years ahead of him at the top if he shows the same commitment as lets say for example Frank Lampard.

Comments attributed to both Traore and Boga suggest they are opposite to Kakuta who seemed to believe in all his own hype and never worked even like Lukaku with the desire to one day wear the Chelsea shirt with pride.

There is also the fact that there are few better places to play right now...I know money talks but working under jose for a club that has won two European trophies back-to-back...well that is some club to turn your back on

I like the clubs new policy of getting the top young talent around. Some can come through the youth set up(I to have been impressed with Boga but i to was with Kakuta) Others can be plucked like this Traore kid while some will need to be signed like Van Ginkle.

As a policy it makes sense but the one gripe i have is when some of these young players cant break into our team and are allowed to leave. I dont have a problem with them going but would like the club to insist on sell on fee's should they go on to realise their full potential else where, then it could be a really profitable way to conduct business.

Players like Sinclair,Borini, Matic have all seen there values rocket having left the club so hopefully this will be something we insist on in the future.

Kakuta still has the potential, his ability is sick good... he just hasn't really took his chances.  Seems maybe that because he is a signed player he just thinks he doesn't need to try.

Nah not for me, he is 22 now and has shown nothing to get excited about, he's just another Shaun Wright-Phillips.

what has Kakuta got a c**t for a dad as well?

Arnsesen signed this kid and i think he signed Kalas aswell although could be wrong. This kid looks good though,i read Martin Lipton yesterday on twitter though saying hes doubtful he will get a work permit.

With the potential that we're got coming through the ranks, even with Blue tinted spectacles off - I think we might have a genuine claim for being "the greatest team the world has ever seen" in 3/4 years.

There is just an insane amount of young talent at the club at the moment.

The boy looks really good, very confident on the ball.

I read that he only 17, and can't sign till he's 18 in September . But hopefully Jose can convince him to sign for us.

mourinho said he wont get a permit this season, but after a loan to europe, and playing for his country should get one in a year or two

Blimey! A couple of good goals against poor opposition and suddenly we have a superstar on our hands. I'd love it if that turned out to be the case but can we reserve judgement until he actually performs in competitive action?

it is possible to derive an opinion on things other than goals :good2:

Yes but are you really telling me this thread would of been made if those goals hadn't of been scored? I didn't see anything that stood out other than the goals but each to there own.

well i can't predict what other people will do, but he looked fantastic even if you exclude the goals. he was the second most impressive youngster (after KDB, and yes, including hazard) and showed up even with his limited game time -- no easy feat considering the wealth on young talent we had on show. i saw a lot that stood out: he reading of the game seemed spot on -- always knew when and where to move, what decision to make -- had a great touch and dribble, and he was composed and made the right moves instead of overplaying/frivolously trying to impress.

i'm surprised none of that stood out to you, but each to their own. would like to hear what other people thought of him
