July 28, 201411 yr Several people on Twitter keep mentioning loan to Boro. I think it's the safest option, although I know people will be disappointed it's not a PL side.
July 28, 201411 yr I like what I've seen of Bamford, and I'd like to see him kept around, but I think that depends on a lot of what happens ahead of him before the transfer window closes. If Torres does leave, and we bring back Lukaku, I wouldn't mind seeing Bamford stick around and be part of a 4 man strike squad. This isn't a Torres bashing post, I'm merely stating that we have to see what happens ahead of Bamford.
August 23, 201411 yr Thought he was going on loan to Boro? Anyone know what's occuring with him this season?
August 23, 201411 yr Thought he was going on loan to Boro? Anyone know what's occuring with him this season? According to this: http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2014/8/21/6052217/to-go-or-not-to-go-patrick-bamford-keeps-middlesborough-waiting Bamford is stalling.
August 24, 201411 yr Turns 21 in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he develops enough this season to be a part of the squad next year.
August 25, 201411 yr I read that Reading were also interested. I can't help but feel the Torres situation may determine Patrick's future. IF Torres were to leave, I think we'd want Patrick near should we inevitably need another striker.
August 29, 201411 yr The fact it's only until January is interesting. Especially with the recent announcement with Torres leaving too. This has to signify another STriker signing this summer?
August 31, 201411 yr I've not seen much of Bamford, what kind of striker would you say he is? Target man, poacher etc?
September 1, 201411 yr I'm gutted Bamford has gone on loan, fair enough if he went to another PL club but to Boro in the championship? How's he meant to develop playing for them? Why not keep him in the squad, bring him on when we have a game sown up to gain PL experience, play him in the CL group games & cup as well, Liverpool played Owen & Fowler when they were young, Everton played Rooney at 16, of course i'm not saying Bamford is in the same class as those were but give the kid a chance, instead we go & spend millions on another foreign player, just once it'll be nice for a young English kid be given a chance.

Boros manager is someone who used to work with Mour whilst he was at Madrid. They're a pretty good outfit now with that manager and have had decent form since his appointment. Im sure Mour trusts boros manager to aid Bamford in improving his all round game. Its only until january too
September 6, 201411 yr Also the issue with going to PL teams is the players might not get as many playing time as if they went to a Championship team.
September 27, 201411 yr Interesting interview with him on the Mail's website, confirms Mourinho initially wanted him as the 3rd striker before Drogba came back... Hoping that means something next season.
September 29, 201411 yr I wonder if like last season Chelsea will move him up a level mid season. Last season he started in league one and finished in the Championship. If he is to be our 3rd striker next season then it would be wise to try and get him a loan deal to one of the struggling teams in the premiership in January.

Chalobah hasn't even played for Burnley yet I don't think, despite them not winning or even scoring.

September 29, 201411 yr He played the second half for Burnley against West Brom, although I suppose that isn't really something to be particularly proud of...
September 29, 201411 yr For a striker I'm not sure if playing for a struggling side in the premiership is of any benefit. I know it opens them up to premier league defences but not in a situation anything like they'll get with Chelsea. Good to see if they're able to perform particularly if we're looking to sell them on I suppose.

Good to see if they're able to perform particularly if we're looking to sell them on I suppose. True but it does give them experience as a striker in pressure situations. Leading the line or being a common substitute, especially as a striker, in a relegation fight brings huge pressure, similarly to a title challenge, and this will help build character, mental and physical toughness as well as give him the opportunity to prove his mettle in the top division.

September 30, 201411 yr The jump from Championship to a top team in the Premier League is just too big. He needs to play in the PL even if he doesnt score before being thought about taking a place in our first team squad.
December 11, 201411 yr 7 goals so far this season. 3 in the last 3 games. Edited December 11, 201411 yr by Zeta Orionis
