Several people on Twitter keep mentioning loan to Boro. I think it's the safest option, although I know people will be disappointed it's not a PL side.

I like what I've seen of Bamford, and I'd like to see him kept around, but I think that depends on a lot of what happens ahead of him before the transfer window closes.  If Torres does leave, and we bring back Lukaku, I wouldn't mind seeing Bamford stick around and be part of a 4 man strike squad.

 

This isn't a Torres bashing post, I'm merely stating that we have to see what happens ahead of Bamford.

Bamford is stalling.

Didn't realise he was almost 21. Thought he was only 19. 

Turns 21 in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he develops enough this season to be a part of the squad next year.

I read that Reading were also interested.  I can't help but feel the Torres situation may determine Patrick's future.  IF Torres were to leave, I think we'd want Patrick near should we inevitably need another striker.

Why not keep him in the squad, bring him on when we have a game sown up to gain PL experience, play him in the CL group games & cup as well, Liverpool played Owen & Fowler when they were young, Everton played Rooney at 16, of course i'm not saying Bamford is in the same class as those were but give the kid a chance,

instead we go & spend millions on another foreign player, just once it'll be nice for a young English kid be given a chance.

Boros manager is someone who used to work with Mour whilst he was at Madrid. They're a pretty good outfit now with that manager and have had decent form since his appointment. Im sure Mour trusts boros manager to aid Bamford in improving his all round game. Its only until january too

Also the issue with going to PL teams is the players might not get as many playing time as if they went to a Championship team.

Interesting interview with him on the Mail's website, confirms Mourinho initially wanted him as the 3rd striker before Drogba came back... Hoping that means something next season.

He played the second half for Burnley against West Brom, although I suppose that isn't really something to be particularly proud of...

For a striker I'm not sure if playing for a struggling side in the premiership is of any benefit. I know it opens them up to premier league defences but not in a situation anything like they'll get with Chelsea.

True but it does give them experience as a striker in pressure situations. Leading the line or being a common substitute, especially as a striker, in a relegation fight brings huge pressure, similarly to a title challenge, and this will help build character, mental and physical toughness as well as give him the opportunity to prove his mettle in the top division.

this is  the trouble nowadays you got to be 24 before you get in the first team, ossie, hud, sideways butch, jimmy greaves,  jt, fowler, owen, ronaldo, messi, cech,courtois were all playing 1st team football as teenagers, if your good enough your old enough, i would much rather see bamford get 10mins against leicster than the ghost of the drog, i know the point of having  a youth system is to produce players to sell on, but it can't be that good if none of them get in the team. christensen has been nowhere near the first team.

The jump from Championship to a top team in the Premier League is just too big. He needs to play in the PL even if he doesnt score before being thought about taking a place in our first team squad.
