Been wondering recently whether it would be wiser to keep Salah, seeing as there seems to be no real option available.

If we can't land Bale, Reus, Griezmann, etc, why not just keep him? (Put our eggs in the Pogba/Varane basket instead). He's shown he can be a threat given the opportunity.

If he can carry his Fiorentina form over he'll offer us some goals from AM. Who knows, maybe the manager will be willing to give him a bit more time having seen he is quite capable in at least Serie A level. A more relaxed, confident, less 'snatch at your chance' version of Salah could prove very useful.

And if it doesn't work again, there should still be the likes of Tottenham, Wolfsberg, Roma, Florentina, Inter, etc keen to take him.

I wish I was as sh*t as them, Salah being swiss player of the year, and scoring a very decent amount of goals in Italy, both being so sh*t to have played premiership football. This is where i was going wrong when trying to be a professional footballer, I wasn't sh*t enough ;)

If you think they are good enough, fair enough, but I have seen nothing to suggest either of them will ever be able to cut it at the level of a team challenging for major titles.

I don't think any top level player is sh*t.

Salah in particular i think is a pretty good player but would be best utilized as a second striker and needs game. It may just be that we arn't a good fit. It doesn't make him a bad  player. We don't play with a second striker and we cant garantee him games 

Apparently he's close to joining Forientina, the clubs have agreed a €16m deal and salah just has to agree personal terms. Should be announced in the next 48 hours.

Looks like we've made our money back on him. Whatever we do this season, we've got to find some decent cover for Willian. I think Cudardo will be given a shot but I can't see him doing well.

Think they have an agreed upon future fee as part of the loan deal. Guess we set the bar too low.

 

However that clause only works until June 30th, end of his loan deal. So if Salah turns them down we may get more money for him, and he may get more money elsewhere.

He won't, not in Serie A anyway. He's been figured out, it's a good time to sell.

The club has done well if they manage to make their money back on this failed signing. 

 

It's all well and good us allowing the likes of Mata, KDB and Schurrle to leave during the January periods but clearly the market is a lot more limited during that time of the season and we've had our fingers burned twice in as many years when bringing in reinforcements after selling. 

 

Hopefully the club are a bit more cautious going forward when allowing players to leave in January and we try to hold out and conduct the majority of our business in the summer. 

So I think today is the final day that La Viola can take up their agreed upon option, otherwise all things in the contract we agreed last January are null and void right?

 

Hopefully that means we can get a better deal for him.

Hope is not another loan.

Word is Inter Milan are looking to sign him. 

 

If we can make back what we paid for him then we'll have raised £20m in player sales already this summer. 

 

Hopefully that can be put towards bringing in a quality signing of our own. 

Inter Milan and Milan both were after Salah, both clubs looking for an improvement and Salah is what they need.

We're likely to make a profit on Salah due to his decent 6 month loan in Italy. 

 

If we sold Cuadrado, right now we'd probably be looking at a significant loss on what we paid for him. 

 

Makes a lot more sense to sell Salah and use the funds towards a better attacking midfielder to provide decent competition.
