Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Probably because it's breaking news on Sky Sports News. I don't think it would be breaking news if it wasn't going to happen.

I don't like the guy, and i don't really want us to get him but i'll give him a chance, i have a feeling he will be suspended a lot though. Us vs Liverpool will be interesting next season, there should be bets on who will be the biggest twat on the day, Suarez or Diego Costa

What gives you that feeling? how many games has he been suspended for this or even last season.

Top your glass up, stop keep drinking out of half empty glasses.

Crazy isn't it!

He's be a automatic starter and playing in his homeland in a WC.

Hope Spain don't mess him around.

Plus side is, he wouldn't be travelling very far during international breaks and will get rotated in Spain's side.

Why would Costa's famous/alleged temper be any more of an issue here than it was in Spain? If anything by most accounts the refs here are more lenient.

We banned Suarez more x amount of games for a bite.

If he spits in his gloves and chucks them or headbutts someone I expect the media to latch onto it and he will be given the same treatment.

F*ck it, no one likes our players anyway... If he scores shed loads and keeps some of his temper in check then why not be happy about the signing? Saurez has a vicious side and look at him (although I appreciate he is probably the worst role model out there with regards on how to act on the pitch) - prolific, although I'm not sure about his record against the bigguns... and Spuds.

He'll tame it down under Jose I have no doubt, I just hope he doesn't lose what makes him special... a bit of a nasty streak isn't the end of the world... if the spitting etc stops which I think it will then this could be what we've severely lacked.

Suarez does these kind of things unprovoked though. Not condoning spitting as I think it's disgusting nor am I condoning some of his other antics, but Costa was giving as good as he got against one of football's biggest w**kers (Pepe) and Ramos, as far as I see it mate.

It's not just against them he done it the other week too, stuck his head in someone.

Players are always going to have bust ups and square up to each other but he needs to know he cant act like a thug because he will have a spotlight on him as soon as he arrives here and we know what will happen if anything kicks off

Anyway I'm getting it all out the way now, I won't mention these things when he eventually signs.

I know. Like I said, I'm not condoning his behavior.

Will be good to finally have someone that defenders fear though. The guy works his arse off.

Daily Mail are claiming that Lukaku will move to Atletico as part of the deal for Costa. Don't see it happening personally but until I here Jose come out and say that Rom will be with us next season then it could be a possibility

That would just mean we need to buy another striker though, would make no sense.

I've seen all these videos on Costa and his antics, but I've yet to see him commit any really ugly or dangerous moments, it's all handbags stuff, he's just a tough competitor who's fantastic at sledging his opponents.

Unless we buy another top player, which I think we probably need as well as Costa.

FIREPOWERRRRR!

Quite like it, I'd like to see this though: -

-------------matic/Mikel

-------------------------pogba/van ginkel

Schurrle/willian--------------------------hazard/salah

--------------costa/lukaku----Cavani/????

Been named in the Spain squad, will be interested to see how he does. Particularly as Spain are likely to face teams that sit deep, and that was obviously our problem, breaking those kind of teams down.

His indiscipline makes me a little uneasy, but on the other hand, if he is managed by Jose I expect he'll be better behaved, based on the comments he has made after we've had a few players diving this last season

I have to say that I'm not overly excited by this signing. Costa didn't really impress me much when he we played them, though in fairness not many strikers do too well against JT and Cahill. I guess I need to watch more of his clips from the last few seasons to get a better idea of his abilities. It would seem that he's the best striker that is available - Falcao and Cavani apparently aren't - but all this excess baggage leaves me a little skeptical. To put it into relative terms, I was MUCH more excited when I heard we were in for both Falcao and Cavani last year.

The only thing i can gather is that they aren't as harsh in Spain as us. If he tries that spitting in his hand and throwing it at a players face he will get a long ban. And if he tries headbutting like he did the other day, he will get another ban. The guy is a nut case.

Drogba was no saint and was loathed in many circles, including a section of our own fanbase for a few years...he didn't turn out too bad

He was a play actor, this is something else IMO.

It's dirty and uncalled for.
