No need to shout I only asked. There are so many people on twitter pretending to be in the know it's difficult to know who to believe. I think I'll still wait. Even if he "knows", things can still go wrong. Just ask Spurs and Liverpool.

Take the rumoured fee with a pinch of salt. Even guys with credible sources get it wrong regularly and have no idea how the fee is structured.

The fee and wages being touted for Shaw are just ridiculous. 

 

No way is an 18 year old left back ever worth upwards of £100k a week, many of our better players don't even earn that kind of money.

 

I also question the £30m fee as well, it's just too much for a player who has proved so little.

Sorry but I can't agree Luke Shaw is not ready, he has a ton learn defensively. Typical modern day full back great going forward but can't defend. Would rather have Filipe whose ready now and was the best LB in Spain last season.

People are basing their opinions of him on his age. Ashley Cole is 33 and still looking decent enough, so if we sign Luis, whose to say he won't have a good 4 years left in him? I mean, bloody hell, Javier Zanetti has been going strong forever and he's close on 40. The same can be said for Cafu and R.Carlos.

Ashley Cole is a better player than Luiz so there is no point in the transfer. Luiz is not at the World Cup, Shaw is, that speaks volumes. Blind also makes more sense than Luis but he looks nailed on for Man United.

One one side, not being an international means he hasnt gone through rigorous amount of games like Oscar etc.

 

But I cant agree with signing a 29 year old, and for 25 million euros aswell. Terrible choice.

The amounts that are being talked about for Shaw are just crazy. A club would have to be stupid to pay that.

I think people need to take a look at the team we had when Jose took over and we won the league. We had some younger players and some older players.

If you want to see only kids playing can i suggest you go down to your local park or even head up to north London and you can celebrate getting 4th place each season.

Its nice to have young players that can play with us for years but you cant have a team full of them. They dont have leadership and know how to win cups and leagues.

Luis is a good option. So what he didnt go to the world cup. Kerry Dixon was a great striker but hardly got any caps for England.

It bugs me when people say don't sign a player because he's too old. Was Franco zola too old? How about Marcel desailly? That old makalele fella was a poor signing too.
