Come on Internationals means nothing, remember Van Persie was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard last Euros yet he still went and finished top scorer the following season.

Also on flip sides you get players who play well like Diouf or Arshavin then they join EPl clubs and suck.

Atletico's depleted team now. They cannot be the same as last season, I feel. Barca is coming back unfortunately.

Yeah they probably won't be but like I said they've got themselves a good replacement for Diego Costa and who knows how good their replacements for Courtois and Filipe will do. I think they'll still be top three and will be challenging aslong as they don't lose others.

Its not disappointing me lol and thats you're opinion nobody knows for sure. Personally I think they're prepared to challenge again Mandzukic will most likely get the same amount of goals as Costa did for them for one and who knows how good they're replacements will be. I've never felt they were gonna retain the title even if they had kept the ones who have gone but I think they will challenge.

With that said, £20M for a left-back who will be 29 at the start of the season (his birthday is August 9) seems relatively expensive. He will depreciate in value dramatically over the length of his contract. If he can give us 4 solid years, however, I think we'll look back on this transfer as sound business.

Completely agree.  Will also help if him being around helps Costa to settle quickly as well.

He looks very skillfull coming forward in |Youtube clips. He'll fit in with our other Brazilians in Oscar, Willian and Costa.

Well you only have to look at the goals England were conceding at the World Cup with everything coming down the left to know that Baines reputation is better than he is as a defender.

"A change of team gives new hunger and ambition, and I was worried about being too comfortable here. A footballer’s career is very short and I want to finish it in a strong and spectacular way."

Luis even claims to be a Chelsea fan.

Im sure he and Robbie Keane will get on well. Loves the Chelsea so he does.

Doesn't actually say he is a fan though just that he likes the team, possibly because we've had a few Brazilian internationals play for us in the last 10 years.
