None of the players that gone on to reach the required level have struggled for games on loan. Christiensen, Courtois, kdb, Lukaku, Salah, Ake all broke into their loan teams very quickly. It's make or break for him next season. Courtois, Lukaku, Kdb, Salah... They all had at least a full season under their belt playing at their previous clubs before they went out on loan from Chelsea. Unless I'm mistaken, Christensen and Ake would be the two who hadn't. Musonda needs some mentoring from a good coach / senior player... He seems quite immature emotionally.
May 5, 20188 yr Stick a buy-back clause in and sell him. I've got much higher hopes for CHO anyway. Musonda hasn't filled out at all, he still looks like a child out there.

Send him on loan to Bundesliga, or do a Traore on him. Looks like Lyon have a good thing going at the moment. Their front three are playing very well... If one leaves, maybe they can use him as a replacement. With the top quality talent coming through Lyon over the years, they probably have the right coaching set-up to improve him. Ps. I like my players to be strong physically but lest we forget, we have someone dominating midfields singlehandedly already in the squad - someone who looks about 10. Edited May 5, 20188 yr by Bluefog

Lyon is a good team to watch, talented and young. Depay seems like found his form, Mariano and Traore are doing well, Ndombele and Fekir are holding their midfield well. A team with a bright future.

Any chance we'd be looking to buy him back at any point? https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109807/Show/Bertrand-Traoré 16 goals from around 40 appearances, mainly from the right wing. He's been one of their main attacking players. Along with Fekir, Mariano and Depaye (all having fantastic season's, too). Supposedly, there's a buy-back / first option on him. Don't think he'll be that keen on coming back, knowing he'll most likely be underused then shipped out again somewhere. He can stay in Lyon, challenge for the title and play Champions League football, all as a starter - for probably a few years yet. Only 22 years old, still.

May 8, 20188 yr Back at Chelsea receiving treatment for a shoulder injury and according to his mum he's "back for good".
May 8, 20188 yr He has enormous promise. That pass for Moses' goal a while back is something not many players in world football can do. Sadly his attutude seems to be less than ideal.
May 8, 20188 yr Can you blame him? He scores a goal for us and clearly it meant a lot to him. We thought finally, he’s going to get more games now. Never saw him again.
May 8, 20188 yr I think the ship has sailed for Musonda, I'd prefer if played Odoi more next year than Musonda who is clearly talented but looking to have everything handed to him.

Don't think the attitude issues started after the goal. Existed before he was loaned to Betis. I think he is very talented, but to be elite, and to play for elite clubs, talent isn't enough. Betis and Celtic have both been a bridge too far for him at this stage in his development. I'm not sure why, as I was impressed with his cameos for us, but something is clearly missing.

The game he scored his goal, I remember he was all over the pitch causing the opposition problems... That's one thing he doesn't seem to lack from what I've seen. Maybe attitude in training? Not taking criticism? Throwing toys out of pram when things going wrong? I still have hope for Boga and Musonda making it here, eventually. Not writing either off just yet. May 9, 20188 yr Don't know what the problem is, CFCHolland? I think Kevin has made a pretty good choice. Lukaku seems happy in United. And Courtois is a businessman. It seems that he miss his family in Spain too.

Ndombele has impressed me this season, but whether he could do it in the PL is another question. The level over here really is quite a bit lower. The real standout for Lyon is Fekir, but he'd drive us absolutely f**king crazy with his antics. Pure class, but spends half his time diving and pissing off players and referees. He took his top off and waved it at the crowd when Lyon beat their rivals St Ettiene 5-0 and it almost caused a riot and cuased the game to be stopped for 15m (which was admittedly funny). Personally the one I'd keep an eye on is a young lad called Houssem Aouar, an AM with bags of potential. The Lyon goalkeeper Lopes is also really quality. If we lost Courtois, I'd be more than happy with him as a replacement.
July 5, 20197 yr Spending the season at Vitesse again. Had a bad injury last year but even still, can't help thinking Musonda won't be playing in a Chelsea shirt again. Showed promise early on but hasn't developed.
