Everyone is hyping arsenal again, but I think city just played awful for their standards. Arsenal looked no different than usual tbh. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but arsenal never looked like a team to be worried about last night.

Arsenal just did what they haven't done for years - adapted their tactics to fit the opposition. For years Wenger has been naive/stubborn enough to go up against better teams and try and play the same football they would against the weaker teams,  which made them easy to beat.

Instead yesterday he took a leaf from our book (as Stoke and a couple of others have with City) and stopped them playing. He tried something similar against us at the Bridge too after the 6-0 beating they took. Thats why it might actually be an important point in his Arsenal tenure, although I think it might be a bit too late now.

I think you have to give arsenal some credit for the way they set up yesterday although city were terrible. But for me it just shows they should of been playing like that years ago, everyone knew they should have adapted their game against the bigger sides but arsne refused to do so until now dispite constant thrashings. How a 'top' manager can be that naive/stubborn for so long is beyond me.

i lone the way Sky are promoting Transfer Deadline Day when there's still 2 weeks to go ; desperate

they also promoted henry's tedious signing as a pundit for even longer than that...sky = hype over substance a lot of the time

Think he's debut was a bit sh*t to be honest. slow to get his points across and a bit posey, don't see the attraction as of yet. And that AVB throat gruffly sound was annoying me.

Yeah he was abit sh*t on debut but it takes time to fit in, I think he'll turn out to be a good addition. His work during the World Cup on BBC was good stuff so we know what he's capable of.

Something to consider, Frank Lampard was the one who played Giroud onside for Arsenals second goal.

So it isn't all that bad then. Hard to see but it looks like he just did slightly.

On the Henry as a pundit topic.  I can't stand listening to him, his English really isn't fluent enough to be giving opinions on live tv, to be frank he bugs the sh*te out of me and it wasn't helped by the build up they gave him.

Did they give it a build up? I didn't notice. They should have advertised it so people knew he would be joining. Maybe on the TV or the radio or billboards or the newspapers. That kind of thing.,

It's not Henry's fault for the annoying, constant adverts. However, his English isn't good enough for it. He seems to struggle getting his point across because of his lack of fluency, which makes it hard for viewers (even if the point is a good one).

Lol pretty sure he's just git his hand in that position

Nope, it's def him clenching his fist in celebration, absolutely. No arguments, facht.

It is his fault that he's an arrogant tosspot though

Picture the scene in the Sky sports studio after a game, Henry and Jaymee Redknapp are reviewing the game...A controversial hand ball earns, lets say for arguments sake, Chelsea, the winner...

Jaymee: "Top top players don't cheat their way to victory with a handball, do they Thierry ?"

Henry gives a Gallic shrug and glowers at Redknapp.

Jaymee closes his legs, shrinks into his chair and squeaks in desperation, "But we've all done it"

Henry chucks his glass of Absinthe over the tight trousered one, and leaves in a huff...

I would be one happy viewer.

I don't personally think he is. People criticised him for being arrogant during the World Cup because his goals were always mentioned, but normally it was Gary Lineker saying things like "you've scored plenty of those in your day" etc, not Henry bringing it up.

Everton look poor. No threat going forward - lots of side to side stuff but nowt in the final third to worry West Brom.

Martinez will be under real pressure soon.
