I don't personally think he is. People criticised him for being arrogant during the World Cup because his goals were always mentioned, but normally it was Gary Lineker saying things like "you've scored plenty of those in your day" etc, not Henry bringing it up.

Yeah the arse licking was unbearable, it almost made me want to watch ITV.

Hopefully now that he's arrived the Sky/Henry love in adverts will finally disappear, he's already in a different league to Jamie Twatknapp.

Couldn't really concentrate on what he was saying to be honest, kept trying to see his halo.

Jeez - the half ends with a missed penalty from Mirallas. Everton are having zero luck. West Brom look well-drilled and a danger when chances arise.

Looks like Mirallas has taken it apon himself to take that penalty. Baines is the usual one. If that was against team orders he's in for one hell of a roasting. Hope he gets subbed at half time.

Glad Martinez had the balls to do it. Can't have players making their own decisions like that especially with Baines record in pens.

Poor captaincy as well, in my book. If there is dispute in the team, then he should take the role as manager on the pitch and enforce discipline. I sometimes wonder what the point of some captains is.

Never thought much of Martinez at Wigan. He had a good season last season, but I think they overachieved.

He couldn't organise a defence if his life depended on it. Last season he could build on the defensive basics drilled into the team by Moyes but that doesn't hold forever.

Romelu who? We robbed Everton

Feel a bit sorry for him in a way, the service is crap. When he does get the ball he has become greedy, and tries it all himself. Doesn't normally have many options tbh.

He's hard to dislike but he did nothing these evening. Undeniably good business by you at present.

Any ideas why Everton are so different this season from last? The team's very similar (perhaps that's partly it?).

I don't know that Everton are too good to be in a relegation scrap.

One season wonder Martinez, to be generous. Last season there was no pressure and they did, this season they had a record singing and expectation, and faltered. When he was at Wigan, he was flirting with relegation every year, and eventually got them relegated. The FA cup was a nice gift, but at a heavy price. With Moyes' team, you know they are good for grinding out a result, or the long ball game in the last 10 to steal a point. You don't see that much with Martinez's team.

Every time I watch Lukaku I understand more and more why Jose was so reluctant to endorse him. Sure, he can finish, but his general link up play is consistently poor; the game often seems to move too quickly for him and so often his touch lets him down. Of course Lukaku is young, and Drogba was also very cumbersome with the ball in his early days at Chelsea, but I just don't see a top class striker in Lukaku.

What would please me more than anything, possibly even more than when Taggart ate his words, would be winning the league this season. His reaction would be brilliant and he might even walk. His young team of homegrown cheap players (how he plays it to the media) losing out to our expensively assembled FFP breaching older squad... wow... please City win the league this season.

He went to Real Madrid and that was supposed to be his glory. The man to win them the 10th Champions League. He failed. He won things, but the fans and owners didn't care about much beyond the Champions League. It's different in Spain - they would take that above La Liga and for Atletico to win the league rather than Barca was a bonus to them.

He's come to Chelsea and so far underachieved. He's spent a lot of money, whether it's been balanced by sales or not - he's still spent what he has. This season they've been very good but should we beat them, and it's about time we did, they will be only 2pts clear and we will be very close to welcoming Yaya back and Bony to the club.

The stadium, the sponsorship potential and so much more means Chelsea can't keep up revenue wise and we will canter into the distance as Moanrinho continues to complain about FFP.
