Reluctantly Gerrard's introduction gave Henderson licence to bomb forward - can't stand the guy but can't deny Rodgers is a decent coach. Wouldn't mind him at Chelsea if Mou ever moved on.

That ship has well and truly sailed. Thought it might have been a possibility for a few years after he left but he's well and truly bought into the Scouse bullsh*t and there's little way back from that.

To his credit he has them playing some nice football but I still think he's a little naive defensively at the top level.

Rodgers has done well in the last few months but how much is judgment and how much luck? His transfer business has been patchy to say the least - he's spent a lot for little return and he's a long way off being trusted with a 'proper' big team like CFC, imo.

What???? You must be joking!  With a name like the special one and you would be willing to swap him for that pillock?  Must be a windup!

i like the word pillock, it just rolls off the tongue!

He's only got one season left there, if he don't come up with any goods next year, it's 'tara brenda lad'

And for all the plaudits, it's worth remembering he's yet to win a thing...

And that his recent run coincides with their schedule getting lighter.

In the FA Cup game between Reading and Bradford, there was the obvious pitch invasion; however, some truly appalling stuff happened from the Reading fans: first, there was the smoke bomb thrown from the pitch into the Bradford fans; second, the Reading fans were tossing coins from the pitch into the stands while the stewards stood and watched; third, the Reading fans were stading on the pitch with lighters chanting to Bradford about fires.

Deplorable actions.  I saw a few folk tagging the FA, Talksport, BBCSport, etc...but wonder if their entire fanbase will be vilified for this?

Watching Liverpool tonight reminds me of how we were playing a few months ago. First to every ball, pressuring Swansea and fantastic movement in the final 3. Maybe Swansea are just sh*t but the game against the scousers could be very tricky.

did you miss the first half where Swansea were all over Liverpool, who's passing was unbelievably sloppy, were defensively shocking, and very lucky not to be a couple down?

Yes I did.

Some good rumours today. Liverpool to sign Zlatan; we are in for Pogba; Remy could end up at Palace and Felipe Luis is on his way back to Spain

Well if they were all to happen, that means Balotelli would off (as expected), we would be getting rid of a MF aswell as signing a LB and a striker.

Yes I did.

Killed that conversation :laugh2:

I can't see Zlatan and Sturridge being a happy duo - the egos there would be quite a clash

We do need to revise our approach to midfield, you and I have both posted many similar comments on the lack of power and creativity that Oscar and others are offering....hopefully we can cross the finishing line in first place but Jose needs a revamp for next year

Why would Allardyce leave West Ham for them? He's doing well and Sunderland are doing shockingly.

West Ham aren't renewing Big Sams contract at the end of the season and reportedly want Moyes. Sam also played for Sunderland.

Agreed 100%!

I think Zlatan would be like Ballotelli has been for them tbh.

We definitely need to do some Summer work.

Yes I did.

So you only had half the story, Liverpool fans I know reckoned it was the worst they had played in ages 1st half

That's disgusting, I hope they get to play the semi with no fans, I think they should ID as many of those fans as possible, and make them watch what happened that day in Bradford, then ban them from all grounds for life.

So you only had half the story, Liverpool fans I know reckoned it was the worst they had played in ages 1st half

Swansea had 61% possession throughout the first half and were fouled 5:1.

That's fair enough. I know they were discussing Swansea having their number at half-time so credit to Liverpool for turning it around. Over the last few weeks they seem to be playing with a sense of adventure that they had last season, with a bit more defensive nous about them.

Fortunately Rodgers managed to spend like a drunken sailor/Spurs manager in the summer.

I just imagine Brendan Rodgers getting up every morning, standing in front of the mirror and giving himself a pep talk

"Come on Brendan, you've got this. Character!  You've got them new shiny white teeth and character!  Liverpool are the biggest club....Character!  We play the right way......character!  Now just go out and smile when you say it and they'll believe it!  Its you Brendan, the biggest character in the business!!!!"

Coco,

has much been made of it in the press back in the UK?  Imagine that was a premiership team, and dare I say - imagine it was Chelsea?  They/We would be vilified for failing to honour the memory of the Bradford tragedy.  But then again, the press don't really cover the Bradford tragedy that much, do they?  It's not quite as "sexy" as Hillsborough (in that there's no police cover up, an ongoing investigation, etc).

Love it, only made better if he wore one of these:

There probably isn't a huge fan base/organisation still milking that event for every inch of publicity they can either.  I mean they laid a wreath covered with LFC branding  at Ground Zero for 9/11 in New York, New York, in August.  They have absolutely no connection to the event or area and nor was it the anniversary or anything. Ive never heard of this happening by any sports team/club.  Just seems like a club that thrives off associating itself with tragedy.  To me, shameless attempts at generating publicity/fan base by trying to manipulate very emotional situations.

Sorry if what Ive said comes across as harsh, but is any of it untrue?
