Lamps to city

Featured Replies

Loads of talk all of a sudden that lamps will now join city on loan for six months...cant say I'm happy with the idea of seeing him in another shirt, but he's free to do what he wants now

I would rather he come back here for 6 months. As someone else has said, this isn't the worst case scenario though, city are tolerable, much less so than Liverpool, Arsenal and spurs. .

Been expecting/dreading this for a while.  Probably doesn't have much of a choice in the matter though with the NYCFC/Man City links.

That said, much prefer this to a Liverpool/Arsenal/Tottenham loan - that would be painful!

Prick

Come on now

doesn't bother me.  love him too much.  greatest Blue ever

It bothers me greatly.

He's going to be playing for our main rivals for the title. Ok, he won't play all that much but that isn't the point. He is for them and against us.

If City win any trophy next season, Frank Lampard will pick up a winners medal with them. He will be helping a team beat the club he says he loves.

I can't be ok with this move.

It bothers me too.

It will of course never take away what he done or where he stands in our history BUT playing for a direct rival no matter loan or not will leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

I was glad h moved to the US but now it feels quite raw

He obviously believes he still has what it takes to play at the highest level at least for a little while, so if we didn't give him a contract and City do, I don't have a big issue with him accepting their offer. If Chelsea wanted him, we should have offered him a contract.

Bit of a kick in the teeth.

If we win the league it won't matter, but if lamps being at city earns them even a single point, it will be very bitter for chelsea fans.

Why does he have to go to city? His contract doesn't start til next year with new york, so surely he would be allowed to go on loan anywhere he wants.

Knee jerk reactions here.  New York offered him the 2 years that he wanted.  Part of that deal was always likely to be joining up with Man City so they had their prize asset getting top level training so he was ready to go for the MLS season next year.

NYCFC/City were never going to loan him to Chelsea.  He is barely going to play.

To be honest, at least he is going to get the send off he wasn't afforded in a Chelsea shirt when City come to the Bridge in January (assuming he hasn't gone to the USA by then).

Also if they register lamps, it could possibly allow them to sell a homegrown player, which will let them strengthen further.

Just disappointed if lamps feels this is all okay. Imagine him scoring the winner against us.

They need him. Not for his football but because he'd help complete their home grown quotas for the mean time. Posted my thoughts in the main Lamps thread so I don't want to post it again. But this fake rage needs to stop.

Fake rage needs to stop?

Just voicing my opinion. I didn't tell you when your opinion needed to stop, and I don't appreciate you dictating to me.

I'm not angry or raged, just disappointed. Yes city need him, which is why he shouldnt go there in my opinion.

Why help out a main rival?
