Thats a bogus rule as well. Why shouldnt a club be allowed to field a second team lower down the pyramid

Because our league is made up of 92 teams, all who carry equal importance in terms of presence and long may it stay that way.

With the players the same age as R l c and older that have been given a chance in the Prem or lower, who is actually pulling up trees at the moment.

Here are all the players of maximum 5 months older than RLC (same school year) or younger from last years top 10 that have played this season

RLC born Jan 23 1996 (19) (man I feel old) 5 BPL(193), 1 LC(71) and 2 CL(83) appearances(mins)

Kennedy Feb 8 1996 (19)     3 BPL(88), 2 LC(119) and 1 CL(17)

Joe Gomez May 23 1997 (18)     5 BPL(437), 2 EL(180)    Looked very good, from what I saw, until he got injured.

Jordan Ibe Dec 8 1995 (19)     22 BPL (994), 3 LC(244), 5 EL(335).   Looked very lively last season but haven't seen much of him this season and what i have seen hasn't really been anything special.

Hope this helps,

I personally don't think any are setting the world alight right now but they are all (maybe baring Rolando Aarons) very decent prospects I would also say that IMO Alli looks to have the next lowest potential ceiling and he is the one with England caps. Interesting that Kenedy is the only non English youngster on this list.

League integrity, sanctity of football, sure

My point was more that if we introduce in effect second elevens to the existing league structure it would be at the expense of teams who though have had little success in their existence have been part and parcel of the league as we know it. If the league was to allow Chelsea a second team in its structure they would have to grant the same to other large clubs too,who have the same problem of bringing youth into the first eleven. Who are we to say that Chelsea or Man Utd for example have more right to a second place in the league instead of say Notts County, Accrington or Hartlepool?

I think integrating youth or second teams into th league system could be done and in a way that benefits the national team without ruining the integrity of the league system. Lets say we start by adding in 2 teams to league each from league 1 to conference north/south (this also doesn't reduce any Potential BPL loans to the championship which are so vital to some championship sides), so that's the introduction of 8 U21 teams to the league system I'd suggest these be 4 northern and 4 southern, you could even add implications separate to those of the league such as a playoff between the bottom placed u21s team both northern and southern against the highest placed northern and southern teams in the U21s leagues for that competitive league spot. this allows for movement through the leagues whilst still allowing the fluidity of U21 teams involved keeping the U21s competition still relevant whilst keeping the integrity of the league system. This does however increase the length of the lower league season by 4 games which might be looked upon as too harsh a season, but it shouldn't be too much of an added burden.

Now we need to make sure this benefits the nation side, to do this I would suggest imparting rules on the teams 2nd/U21s sides, along the lines of the club must field at least 5 club grown and 8 home grown U21 players in the match day squad, this would give a lot of young homegrown players exposure at a competitive level and also adding the club grown quota would hopefully prevent the bigger more financially able teams stealing the talent of the lower reputation teams, again helping to keep the integrity of the league system.

However if this is deemed as too much of a change, just introducing these u21 sides into a competition such as the fa trophy would help the progression and competition levels these teams get to play.

They dont. Allow any club to field a 2nd side. Just like a new club, have them start at the bottom and work their way up. Stick them at a certain level of the pyramid with no chance of promotion. I think it would help immensely if we had a sqaud of youth players in League 1. It would help us and in extension the national team.

What would be the objection if the FA said tomorrow, "starting next season any club currently in the football pyramid can play a second team granted they start at the bottom and feature a minimum of 8 homegrown players."?

sorry I was talking about Chelsea players past and present. Those out on loan or those got rid of in the last couple of years.

I can see fully your point but this is one I think we will just have to disagree on. The vast wealth of the premier league sides would soon make Division 1 the U21 league it is now no matter how low down the system they started. This would be at the expense of smaller clubs who have been the backbone of English football for over a century, all that have fans who are just as passionate as we are about our club.

We have a problem of getting the youth team players game time as do other large clubs, it is upto us to do something about our own set up but not at the expense of others.

It would end up like our pool league, as money would talk.... (money doesn’t talk in our pool league, but one establishment has 6 teams)

We'd be playing Man Utd away one week, followed by Man Utd C and Man Utd B at home.

I see your point as well. Im not English maybe I dont have the insight you do. I see it as beneficial to both the clubs and country, which to me seems worth the expense of a handful of perpetual lower league teams.

I honestly wanted to know what the objections would be.

The objections would be from the thousands of fans of those perpetual lower league teams. I think a huge difference between England, and say Spain, is that even the lower leagues attract thousands of supporters every week, not tens/hundreds like in Spain.

There would be a huge outcry if a team such as Rochdale for example, was denied entry into the league because of a Chelsea B team. And not just from Rochdale fans, but from all fans of lower league clubs. In Spain i think there is less support for lower league teams and therefore it is easier to push the idea

I'll take your word for it, thanks

I don't see the problem if they start from the beginning like AFC Wimbledon or the green manure lot

It's hard to discover who Jose is really looking for, but I got a feeling he's looking for a CM. I don't really believe he's taking RLC as an option, and that's really disappointing.

What experience will that bring besides getting the sh*t kicked out of them every Saturday and the quality of football would be poor

Don't watch much reserve football?
