Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Telling that he doesn't make the bench even when Steve Holland who also works with him for England U-21's is picking the side???

I feel that Mourinho may have killed his confidence, so he needs time to get it back, I feel holland just used the standard team, because Kennedy isn't even on the bench. Don't think anything had happened.

Nah I don't think so. Things are too fragile at the moment. Hopefully under Guus he will be given some time.

Yer give it a few weeks for everything to settle then hopefully he'll be given a chance.

I'm starting about to lose my hope about him, he can't be worse than Fabregas and Matic, I don't understand why he can't even make the bench.

He will not get a chance, imo. Neither will kenedy or traore. Guus set his stall out today. None of the three involved, he will put his faith in the regulars.

Matic: No legs, No strength, No clue. Just a big lump atm.

Fabregas: No legs, No strength, No fight, Good passing

Oscar: No strength, No bottle, no consistency, avg quality

Ramires: No technique, No passing, Low IQ. Lot of legs.

Mikel: No tenacity, No legs, some strength, average quality, no offence. (pun intended)

RLC: Low stamina, No experience, Some promise, some technique, some physicality.

State of the midfield at present.

Ferguson said the same thing about Paul Pogba.

I've stated many times RLC should be given a proper chance... so long as he's earned it. Its been 18 games and what has he done to earn a place? Time to start considering he's not good enough, yet, to justify picking him. The potential is there for him to be a star but theres nothing we can do if he isnt living up to it

But on the other side our current players are doing absolutely nothing to justify a starting place.

The nature of many young players is that they will need games where they might perform average, below par, until they start to bed in and their confidence, skill level, tactical awareness, stamina, experience all increases.

This has been such a poor season, I would be quite content to see RLC, Kennedy, Traore, Baba feature regularly and gain some valuable game time and experience.

You can't have it all. Every player have his weaknesses.

Very true. However when people post about 'they cant be any worse' that is simply not true. I'll concede Matic had been essentially a League 1 quality player so far but the others could be much worse overall.

Id like to see the younger players feature more but outside of Kenedy or Baba who else has earned a chance? We cant watch training, so we really have no insight as far as that goes. Could be RLC, Traore and Aina are not up to snuff during the week so they get left out of the squad.

Musonda is another player we hardly mention but I give him a run out purely on the fact he made Cesc his b*tch the other day.

How can he earn it if he doesn't actually get a chance ? Against Villa, he was the best player on the field, then he was pulled off at half time. He isn't getting time to prove himself.

You can't have it all. Every player have his weaknesses.

Well, you can reasonably expect midfielders of the supposed highest quality on some of the highest wages in football to be somewhat well rounded whilst really excelling in one or two areas.

It seems the players mentioned are, atm, each decent/good at one aspect and close to useless in every/most other areas. So unbalanced, Esp when you add the mental frailties (lack of motivation, lack of belief, lack of determination, lack of leadership).

Like I mentioned, one can only pass, one can only run, one can only offer good movement, one can only offer mediocre protection to the back four, etc

('Only' might be a slight exaggeration, but it certainly feels that way watching them.)

I'm worried about the lack of opportunities Loftus-Cheek is getting. He's not even getting sub appearances

He has very rare qualities IMO. There's not many players around that can combine power and strength with elegance and good feet coupled with decent pace. Pogba and Yaya are two others that have these qualities, Pogba is one of the most sought after players in the world and Yaya has been one of the best CMs in the League the last 5 seasons

We're desperate for a player like Loftus-Cheek in midfield, our midfield gets broken through so easily these days. Matic and Fabregas simply don't work in a two man midfield yet get picked game after game. Loftus-Cheek would be perfect in a 3 man midfield with Matic and Fabregas

If Loftus-Cheek leaves in search of more first team football then we have shot ourselves in the foot, not only would we have allowed a player with so much potential to leave but we would also have lost someone who's been at the club almost their whole life, someone who is Chelsea through and through

This season is a write off, instead of playing the same under-performing players game after game it's time to look to the future and play some of the youngsters

How can he earn it if he doesn't actually get a chance ? Against Villa, he was the best player on the field, then he was pulled off at half time. He isn't getting time to prove himself.

Young players have to earn it in training.

KDB is a good example. He played well then as soon as he was dropped for a game he didnt put the effort in during training and hardly got a game.

The Villa game has been the only one Ive missed so Ill have to take your word. We all know why he got taken off. Why he never got a chance after that we dont know. Im inclined to believe he started phoning it in during training

I have said it before, he is our Pogba.

We are going to let him leave and then we will regret it.

He cannot be worse than the mdf we are currently playing so give him a chance, he seems like the kind of player that makes those late runs in the box which we are desperatly missing, a la Lamps.

Give the boy a chance
