Ruben Loftus-Cheek

It might need the club to lose a youth player to recognise what they have. A Pogba situation should stop them looking elsewhere and appreciate what they've got.

I'm convinced Bertrand got sold because he was under appreciated. He never let us down whenever he played for us. Real shame.

Got sold with a champuons league medal in he's pocket, your right a real shame. He's was learning from the best as well.

Guus saying that he's someone that needs to prove he is first team capable, and that his display was good but there are areas he needs to improve.  I think that's good, fair, honest feedback for the lad.

I think in the U21's he played more as a CM than a CAM

Meanwhile when Jose did the same thing he was "destroying his confidence"

My thing is, who is he going to displace in the squad/team?

We've just given a contract extension to Ramires, Mikel has about three years left on his contract.

Matic and Fabregas are the big earners and generally seen as first choice.

There's so many players blocking his path to the first team I just don't know where the opportunities will come from.

Ramires and Mikel are both squad players and if Matic and Faregas continue to have dips in form like they have for some months, then he could replace ANY of these.

I think there are less players blocking youngsters paths right now than there have been for some time - by that I mean nailed on first 11 starters. There have been very few "untouchables" this season.

If we include Oscar who he replaced yesterday thats 6 players for 3 spots in the starting lineup. I know were all foreign to the concept of rotating since José never did, but that would leave him with plenty of oppurtunities under a manager that likes to utilize a bigger squad

The next long term injury is only a question of months.

The point I was trying to make was that with so many players with indifferent form I just see the manager going with tried and tested and rotating between the established four senior players.

I think it was a bad decision to extend Ramires contact personally, he's never been a regular starter for club and having the same squad players year after year stagnates the team.

If the club really are serious about giving youth a chance we need to stop blocking their path by giving lengthy contracts to mediocre players.

Some managers believe heavily in squad rotation, sometimes to the detriment to the team and others, like Jose have their core of players who when fit always plays (also sometimes to the detriment of the team).

It's a difficult balance, I want RLC to play because he deserves it, not because it would be nice to see a youngster have a go.

It's a tricky one.

Oh for God's sake, it's been a horrid season so far, let us marvel in our youngster scoring his first of hopefully many goals without being accused of getting carried away.

Look at that goal again, how many players do we have who can finish with their left peg like that ? Fab ? nah. Oscar ? noope ? Willian ? not with is left. Hazard ? he wouldn't even of been in that position to score. Ramires ? dont be stupid. Matic ? HAHA, Mikel HAHAHAHA

I think it is fair criticism for him to have received from Guus.

Let's not get carried away, more lets be excited about the prospect we have.  I think it will be very telling on how he is utilized the remainder of this season, knowing that his contract with us is as good as up.

I think his versatility makes him compete with Matic and Oscar more than anyone else.

what i don't get is the amount of hype musonda gets and he cannot get anywhere near the first team. pretty sure musonda was being compared to the best belgian players currently, or maybe that was just from delusional belgian football fans, but he is obviously a talent. why can he not get on the bench for the cup games at least?

as for loftus-cheek. he definitely didn't do that much when he came on (barring the goal) and i was surprised he didn't track back more and seemed to stay behind costa a lot! definitely has to get more games and a manager who will give the right guidance and coaching.
