Not sure if anyone has posted this already (apologies if so) but here's the Daily Mail article with Ronaldinho's dream team:

For those who can't be arsed clicking - the three Chelsea players are John Terry, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele. Full XI below:

GK - Buffon
RB - Cafu
CB - Terry
CB - Maldini
LB - Roberto Carlos
DM - Makelele
CM - Kaka
CM - Lampard
RW - Messi
ST - Ronaldo (Original, not the greasy one)
LW - Henry

Now THAT is a dream team. Nice to see the Chelsea legends being given some credit. A lot probably wouldn't like to admit it but Terry and Lampard genuinely were world class at that point in time. Makelele obviously was and had been for a while. Massive respect for Ronaldinho. Despite not reaching his full potential he's still the most exciting player I've ever seen play the game and did things I've never seen before or since with a football.

No, not those type of things. Get your head out of the gutter.

But where on earth is Gerrard?  Because he's a legend.  The media keep telling us so. :laugh2:

Ronaldinho was an amazing player, and I think the game against Barca in 04-05 CL he scored on of the most amazing goals against us...just out of nowhere.  I was on such a high during that game..and then that happened.  As gutted as I was, I had to applaud

So, to have him list 3 players, especially Terry and Lampard, is a huge tribute to Chelsea.  Maka, well that's got to be automatic, right?

The first time I witnessed Roni was a friendly match between the US vs Brazil. The commentators were saying this guy would be the next Big Thing out of Brazil. Shortly after that statement Roni scored an excellent taken Free Kick. The dude was simply amazing - for my money Ronaldinho is The GOAT!!!

What a team that is, swap henry out for ronaldinho himself and it would be amazing.

As for ronaldinho, i still think the toe punt, curly thing he scored against us is the best goal I have ever seen, simply because no one even knew what had happened, and I dont think any other player would even have seen the chance, let alone scored it.

Suprized xavi didn't make the team.

I'm pretty surprised he left out the majority of the Barca players he'd played with. Maybe a bit of politics due to how Guardiola basically forced him out the door? I'd have Xavi or Zidane instead of Kaka anyway.

Amazing team and it speaks volumes of how highly rated some of our players were by Ronaldinho himself (arguably the best player of his generation at his peak).

Terry and Maldini is a formidable defensive partnership and they're alike in many ways. Both of them are one club players, natural leaders and universally admired and loved by their fellow supporters.

Makelele was always underrated but it's great to see that Ronaldinho recognises the contributions he made at Chelsea and Real Madrid before Perez gave him the flick. The likes of Zidane and Raul all said selling him was a big mistake.

Lampard was brilliant around the time when Ronny was peaking. The year Ronaldinho won FIFA Player of the Year in 2005 Lampard was runner-up in that award.

Tomorrow,  March 8th is the 10th anniversary of when we beat Barca 4-2 at the Bridge. One of the greatest games I've ever been to. The atmosphere was brilliant. I could hardly speak the next day with all the singing and shouting.

When  JT scored the place went crazy.

One of the most intense matches I've ever witnessed! The first 20 minutes of that game when we were 3-0 up was simply phenomenal until Barca made a huge comeback with Ronaldinho leading the way but Terry's header at the end was sublime.

Crazy to think it was 10 years ago!

Many of the top players over the years were neutralized by Chelsea - ronaldo and messi were some of many that never really shone when playing us. Ronaldinho was immense though because he wasn't just a flair player - he could take the ball and hold it riding out tackles and shielding with his body, he was big and strong and a wizard as well.

Think there's still some negative feelings towards Barcelona as Puyol and Xavi seem like players who he really would have picked.

Puyol over Terry and Maldini? No chance, Puyol was quick and strong so got himself out of trouble a lot. Terry and Maldini have the brains to put themselves in the best position and don't often need to do 'hollywood' tackles and blocks.

I know I don't disagree with your points, I just feel that as an ex Barcelona player who played with a Puyol in his prime he would have been inclined to pick him.
