Fabregas needs to get his act together... he's been very poor. We sometimes really miss Mikel as an option.

Fabregas Oscar and Matic have been dire in midfield, no control at all. Our defence have been sluggish and caught out of position afew times we are extremely lucky its only 1-1, Costa with some nice movement up top and Courtois making some nice saves, not much else to say about the players inbetween.

This is the worst I've seen us play in a long time.

 

 

4 days isn't really a long time, Gem   We look like a team devoid of confidence, as opposed to early in the season. Changes are needed, if not in personnel, then in mentality.

Blue Daze came up with a stat the other day about the amount of times we concede after scoring, it was shockingly high and seems to be increasing game by game.

fabregas is having a shocker

we don't have anyone playing in between the lines, it's basically costa up top by himself with all 3 of our attacking midfielders playing way to deep to be a threat

If any midfielder bar Matic has broke a sweat I'd be very surprised.

 

Similar story to the PSG game - it just looks like Southampton want it more.

 

Attitude change and we win this. More of the same and there's no chance we take 3 points.

Going by the trend of this half of the season, Jose's half time tune up will do nothing, he won't make a sub until 70 odd minutes and if we win it'll be another backs to walls game.

I've lost faith in our halftimes, we used to perform much better but the way it has went this season we will come out and play worse no doubt.

 

Every time we play sh*t people keep saying Jose will lay into them and we'll see a reaction, and then we play even worse. This is the performance of a team who don't want to win the league.

 

Too many poor performances again. Poor half of football from us. Once again we lose control when we score.

Would be nice for us to come out after half time and buck the trend.

 

Too many poor performances for Jose to be able to make subs to sort it out. I honestly cannot see what he can do to bring this back in our favour.

 

We can only hope that Southampton continue to waste the large spaces we keep leaving for them in defense and we do not give away anymore silly pens and free kicks. 

 

And hope we manage to get a bit of luck to nick it.

 

For the first half I would say Southampton were the better side, defended better, passed the ball better and we are lucky to be level at the break. I really hope we see a lot better from our side in the second half.

And there is no movement most of the time. You see the ball with Dave or Oscar on the wing, and they look up and there is nothing. Costa is surrounded by defenders. Eveyrone else has a red and white shirt between them and the ball. We try a little pass and Southampton want it more and get to it first.

 

I'm sick of these sh*t performances week after week. What has happened to us since the turn of the year? Does this team not have the mental strength of former teams? Is Jose f**king us up by playing the same 11 every week even when they are awful?

Sick of seeing him start games when he does nothing to merit it.

Jose really needs to change things, if not then I can't see is taking much from Arsenal and United. League will be open yet again because of our complacency.

 

I can't really name a Chelsea player who has been good to be fair.

 

Matic doesn't look effecient as he usually does. Cesc will not stop losing the ball, Hazard can't seem to make an impact but again one of our best attackers. Costa has been dreadful besides the goal he has just lost the ball. Willian for me has been the worst player on the pitch as for Oscar just the same performance, nothing of merit, poor first touch, no impact in the game, nothing from him.

 

The fullbacks aren't helping the game massively either, although to be fair besides struggling at the back Ivan looks the best when attacking. Azpi just isn't doing it.

Up until 10 minutes before the end of the half I didn't even know Oscar was playing. No urgency in anything and no desire. I see the back 5 esp Courtois and Azpi showing desire.

The Ramires & Drogba sub coming up.

It's simple, play 4-3-3, sub Oscar and Willian for Ramires and Cuadrado. Gives us better control in midfield and Fabregas has more freedom to go inbetween their lines. Willian has been crap, no vision since he had two good chances to pass the ball and haven't tracked back well either.

Our slump seems to continue. Really poor play and it seems that whatever lessons the player took from the mid-week game has been quickly forgotten. We seem to be completely overrun in the midfield and on the right-hand side. Oscar, Fabregas and Willian are either losing the ball or slowing the play down. I think Jose should have made a bigger rotation. I think he should have shifted Azpi to the right and gave a run to Luis on the left. Also, Cuadrado for Oscar is a necessary rotation, Oscar has done little during this half.

I'm guessing what will happen is we'll continue to be sh*t for the next 30 minutes or so, then we'll actually put some effort in the last 10 minutes but it will be too late.

Teams in dire need of a refresh

If we cannot pass makes me wonder if we should just go route one and have Drogba up there to try and knock stuff down for Remy and Costa.

 

Our passing players are always giving the ball away, Willian, Oscar and Cesc. Hazard has been invisible.

Lack of rotation shows it's ugly head.

 

What's the point of buying all these players when we never play them.

Yeah if I'm being honest Bobby I'm going to end up apologising a lot later.

 

Just absolutely fed up with this abysmal performance, I'm in a bit of a meltdown right now, I should probably stay off for my own sanity, just can't believe how badly we've came out, we just look 2nd best at everything.

 

I also know we are going to come out 2nd half and play a lot worse. Can't see a win today.
