There was a moment when I saw Ramires warming up and thought the sad thing is he's warming up for one of Willian or Oscar.

I've been sticking up for Oscar a lot recently, so maybe I have a bit of bias in wanting to see him perform, but I don't think he's the problem today.

 

Higher up the field he was getting no service, and now that he's deeper there's no movement in front.

 

Dave and Ivan are too deep. The few times they've overlapped we've opened up space. 

Why should Ivanovic's reaction mean anything ? If he is fouled, it's a penalty, the reaction shouldn't matter.

Our slump seems to continue. Really poor play and it seems that whatever lessons the player took from the mid-week game has been quickly forgotten. We seem to be completely overrun in the midfield and on the right-hand side. Oscar, Fabregas and Willian are either losing the ball or slowing the play down. I think Jose should have made a bigger rotation. I think he should have shifted Azpi to the right and gave a run to Luis on the left. Also, Cuadrado for Oscar is a necessary rotation, Oscar has done little during this half.

 

Well we'll see if Jose is the world class manager he's supposed to be in this 2nd half.

 

Everyone can see the problems in that first half:

 

- Ivanovic out of position

- Willian not tracking back

- Midfield being overrun

- No movement up front

 

What will he do about it?

Yep I get anxious. Keep thinking we NEED a second.

Oscar off for Cuadrado and Cahill of for Zouma.

It's simple, play 4-3-3, sub Oscar and Willian for Ramires and Cuadrado. Gives us better control in midfield and Fabregas has more freedom to go inbetween their lines. Willian has been crap, no vision since he had two good chances to pass the ball and haven't tracked back well either.

Cannot see why not, plan A not going so well so far.

To think that I was hurling my body at everything in a 5 a side game the other day, a game that didn't matter at all yet I'm still limping days later. These players just don't want it enough, someone tell them that there is a title to play for here.

I can't watch another half like that, it has to change. You can see how frustrated the players are with this performance. We seem to do better when the pressure is on.

Lack of rotation shows it's ugly head.

 

What's the point of buying all these players when we never play them.

That is frustrating for me as well. We have a what, 20mill pound left back that cannot get a game, a 27millon pound right winger that never gets a go. Why did we buy these guys?

Just absolutely fed up with this abysmal performance, I'm in a bit of a meltdown right now, I should probably stay off for my own sanity, just can't believe how badly we've came out, we just look 2nd best at everything.

I also know we are going to come out 2nd half and play a lot worse. Can't see a win today.

Look like the away side. Worrying form at the moment, could go either way this.

Remy for Oscar of Willian? Costa looks far too isolated, neither of the 2 mentioned are offering much offensively- heck Willian isn't doing anything defensively to stem the flood of attacks down our right. Remy would offer a tangible threat and stop Soton doubling up on Costa. Drogba will probably come on before Remy though...

I think because of yesterday's City result and our own pitiful CL exit we expected the players to react today.

If anything it's just a repeat of midweek and looks like we are folding underhe pressure.

Jose said we would win the league, well his players obviously never heard that bit because they don't look like champions today!

As far as performances go, we're not fit to lick the boots of the Liverpool bottlers of last season, regardless of whether we win the league.

What a farce.

Jose needs to pull the finger out and earn his pay. Time for some hairdryer in the dressing room, remind the team what's at stake here.

Notr sure about the comments saying we're lucky to be going in level, their penalty was a 50/50 and we should have had one ourselves.

 

Give them some credit for the way they've played their own game on our turf and played it well, our boys didn't need that after the last game and hopefully will give it a better shot second half.

I'm absolutely maddened by this. What the hell is their problem? They should be ashamed of themselves for these lethargic performances. It's mind boggling how we're top of the league while chuffing out a succession of half-arsed displays.

The team is flat and disinterested, the crowd is flat and disinterested. And I see no change in the second half. Hopefully we somehow nick it but I am not expecting anything.

Arsenal must be looking at the performances of us and City and thinking that they could actually take this title.
