Let's talk about Hazard

For me, Eden is the best player in England. His close control and creativity is only matched by Messi and Totti in the world. He can do everything, make goals, score goals. I want to hear what everyone else thinks about him, and who you think might be better than him

He's really picked it up recently as well. He's learning to take a game by the scruff of the neck and make things happen, where in the past he had little bursts of brilliance without as much impact on the game as a whole. Surely he's POTY

Clearly the best in England in his position (attacking midfielder), but quite a step behind the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. The key areas that he needs to step up to catch up with those players is (a) impact, and (b) consistency. We'd be lost without him, no doubts about it, but the reason we're already out of the Champions League is that when push came to shove, he wasn't able to turn it on in that grand stage.

One part of his game I don't see as much since he moved to England is his shots from distance. There isn't too much variety to his game. Defenders know that when he gets the ball, he's going to dribble for certain and so what defenders do is they crowd him out.

But wow, how lucky we are to have him!

Cheers,

got some flak before for saying it but honestly i think he's the best player i ever seen play for us purely from an ability point of view and his contributions currently. obviously there has been players that have won a lot more trophies than him here ontop of playing for the club for a decade or more but hazard right now is just something else

there's only 3 players ive ever seen play live in a chelsea shirt that would consistently get me and others standing up from our seats whenever they got on the ball...regardless of where they were on the pitch - zola, robben and hazard, but the 2 aforementioned weren't as good as eden, maybe robben at his absolute best...especially in his first season but eden is simply....hah...sh*t, i cant even describe it

I hope to see him play for chelsea for years and years to come it just a joy to see him grow and becoming one of the best in football.. Even more happier that he choose chelsea to build his first steps of becoming world best :))) I know it might not happen and eventually, Madrid will come and knock in his door time and time again, but at the end I will still point at him in the future and say "look it's Eden and he played for chelsea before " amazing feeling already

I would have to disagree to a certain point on your post about Hazard not having much variety to his game, every time he gets the ball he creates space for others and provides assists as well as goals. People may argue that he doesnt take the ball on the outside and whip balls in but to be honest he is far more dangerous cutting in where he can either shoot or play someone in or even have a little give & go with someone else (Which he has done continuously all season). His stats ar far better than any player in the EPL who may put balls in the box, The bottomline in football is to either score or assist someone else and Hazard has been right up there this season.

Your argument about the Champions league and Hazard not turning it on I believe ourselves as a team got exposed in terms of how reliable we are on Hazard. He didnt perform to his high standards but still over the 2 legs he was arguably our best player, I remember him being our best player last season against Bayern in the Super cup Final. I dont believe he is the kind of player who goes missing in big games, we just need some of our other players to create space for him to allow him to stretch defences against superior teams.

read an interview today with mario melchiot saying that he thinks hazard is so good that we are unbalanced going forward in that we rely so much on him to create on the left side of the pitch that the right side has become neglected and that opposition teams have become adjusted to flooding defenders on hazards side because he is so much more of a goal threat than anyone on the right

hes not wrong and it just reflects how good he actually is. i cant think of too many players that would compliment him in terms of being an equal or close-to threat as he is. the only ones i can think of are already established world class players like your messi's, robbens, ribery's of this world etc

Amazing player, and quite scary and fun seeing him improve time and time again. Cannot fathom that he is still getting better. The question is when will it peak, and where will he be when it peaks. Best player in England, currently, and he signed a new contract a few months ago :)

Thankfully we have Eden tied down on a pretty sweet deal at the moment so if the likes of Real Madrid were to come knocking they're facing an even bigger bill than Bale.

totti? what in the actual f**k? iniesta and isco are in another league when it comes to ball control compared to totti

Love him as a player but also what a great lad. Never see him going in for cynical challenges and his English has become really good over the last few years, also appreciate his cheeky winks in the interviews for absolutely no reason. A true joy having someone like that at your club

Really exceptional player, best in EPL by a country mile. One of the things he has sometimes been criticised for is not being greedy enough and should take more shots on. I think generally he makes the right decisions and I thought his performance against Stoke typifies the man. How many top players would have laid on the tap in for Reme when there was a great opportunity to score themselves. Hazard is all about the team and not the glory.
