Arsenal v. Chelsea (PL) 26/04/2015 KO: 16:00 GMT

^ If only we'd bribed our way into the top flight, doped our players, had a manager and a chairman banned from football for corruption, moved halfway across London and changed our name 4 or 5 times like a prototype MK Dons, maybe we'd have some history like Arsenal do. That kind of pedigree and tradition just can't be bought.

As for the match, job done. Wenger still hasn't beaten Jose. Six points to go.

Arse fans don't realise how much their bitching and moaning makes it all the sweeter...doesn't upset me one bit....

If you like that, then you will really enjoy this...these fools are binkering w/ each other on how to beat Chelsea

The worst thing about that is his moaning about us celebrating at the end.

A key result in our quest to win the title and we're meant to troop off disconsolately?

May I remind him the way Arsenal celebrated when they finished fourth, or the way his team take a selfie of themselves in the changing room every time they get a point away to some relegation fodder?

What a f**king berk.

I thought exactly the same - we were not celebrating a 0-0 win per se, as he insinuates, but a point towards being champions.  But you can't expect an Arsenal fan to understand that.  It's been a long time,  (and how many draws did the "invincibles" clock up?)

Well that was a very enjoyable watch. Despite Arsenal's domination of possession we had the better of the chances and should arguably have had two penalties. We went into the match with the advantage; Arsenal needed to win far, far more than we did which played into our hands perfectly.

A massive step towards the title, just six more points!

I like the "Chelsea lost the cup final in 94 to Man United" part of that moron's rant. The fact we were in the cup final shows we weren't irrelevant and it was also against a great United side. We won it three years later anyway...the three years after again. All before Abramovich.

We did the job, probably should have won it with the best chance of the match. To be honest, I was more nervous when we had the ball and passing around midfield with little purpose, never really worried when we packed the 2 'buses' in front of goal. Game like this really shows the true values of our defenders.

Looking forward to seeing Bully, Claude and co's post match meltdown on Arsenal fan tv about horrible old Chelsea and their anti-football.

Boo hoo!  :laugh2:

Championeeeeeees!

I'm hoping arsenal players are as over confident as their fans seem to be that they will win today...genuinely surprised they feel so optimistic given their poor record against us...It's not like I think we are guaranteed a good result cos of what we have done in the past -and that's despite Jose's ability to get results in big games...I will take a point now for sure, that will definitely put title to bed

As I was saying, I really don't know why arse were so full of it before the game...yes they came into it on back of good run, but they had not been able to penetrate Jose's blue wall for 12 games...now we can make that 13 and it was all pretty straight forward, with few major scares

question about George Graham's gooners, didn't they play a similar style to Jose's Chelsea? I heard Lee Dixon saying one of the popular chants when he playing for le arse was '1-0 win for the arsenal'.

Don't even have to go back as far as Graham... count the 1-0 wins during the run-in. Anyone would think they were boring.

That's why all you can do is laugh at them...it's easier for them to blame the fact they won't win the league again on us being boring than their own team being nowhere near good enough...if roles were reversed, they'd be delighted...

The 'we wouldn't want to win things the way chelsea do' is from same stable of utter bollox as fans who say they wouldn't want to win trophies by using the help of someone like roman at their club

I thought we played well and held our ground like champs.

Not going to celebrate yet, but am pleased to retain our unblemished record against Arsne.

Love some of the rants on ArseTV, makes me laugh and those guys look so frustrated with their team.

To the Leicester, we go!

As I was saying, watch this scene with the mindset of Keanu playing the role of chelsea and arsenal the desperate agent firing blanks! Definitely first minute sums up story of the game...in fact, given arsenal haven't even scored against us for over two years, it sums up how comfortable we are against them full stop

Meanwhile as I'm Watching game back on sky, not surprised to hear Tyler get all excited whenever arse had a pea roller aimed anywhere near let alone at our goal

Does anyone think that of all the pens we haven't had given this season, ospina's assault on Oscar was the worst...not only was it a foul in the first place, he almost took his head off...should have been a pen and a red card...Oliver's failure to see that as bad as Atkinson's when Barnes tried to break Matic's leg

I understand his confusion over why a player would celebrate putting one hand on the BPL title. Wenger has trained em well.

We don't have as glorious a history as some, we didn't support this club because of that. We supported this club not because it was the easy choice but because it spoke to us. We supported it because our families did, and the club became our family.

That's why we're proud of our history you ignorant c**t. Not because of the statues or the trophies, but because it's OUR history.

Twat.

Well if you want to go by support Chelsea actually has a very impressive history. The club lead the entire nation in average attendance for 9 out of 15 straight seasons in the early 20th century, some while in the second division. Obviously this all occurred before winning a cup or league title which I think is even more impressive. Before Arsenal did it once too. They had to rely on a bribe and then winning trophies before they could get a following like that. Yet they want to cry plastic and whine about financial doping.

TBF here in the States most pundits were saying CFC should have had 2 PKs..Then you factor in that Ramires stop. Props for him for getting into that position, but IMHO if we had a true #9 in that position we would have won. I think that was another reason why we saw The Great DD step on the pitch after the half.

The assault on Oscar was reckless and dangerous. Amazed it wasn't given. Don't know what the referee was thinking. Also surprised our medical staff allowed him to carry on playing. Thought there were guidelines about players with head injuries.

As for the match, a great result under the circumstances. No fit strikers but held our own against an in-form Arsenal side and were disciplined and controlled throughout. They fluffed their chances but we had arguably the best chance of the game with Ramires.

Defenders were all excellent as were Ramires and Willian. Hazard was subdued. Thought we could've done with Costa or Remy today. Hopefully next season we’ll go into the campaign with more options upfront. In a way were lucky we're not still in the Champions League. Two strikers and an ageing warhorse will just get us over the line. Not that I begrudge Drogba anything.

Nearly there....

I still think that Cazorla one on Fabregas is a clear penalty, that's enough contact to take a player down in my opinion.

Also Robbie Savage is thick as hell, shame it had to be him to defend us about it, although I did like what he said. He out of all the pundits said it's unfair with how many times our players have been booked for simulation in the box when it has infact been a penalty.

Marker.

Great to put the skids on their run, to kill off their momentum and to truly show them they're under our thumb. Important not just for this season, but for next in my opinion.

Yes, marker.

I disagree with the last part.

Yes, marker.

I disagree with the last part.

I think it's evident from the reaction of their fans online and in person to see that the feeling around that club has changed after the match. Before there was a real sense of optimism, a real sense of change and a genuine feeling they'd finally break that hoodoo.

They didn't.

Now you see the old doubts creeping in, the feeling that a FA Cup win might be the best way to send Wenger off, maybe to have a crack at Klopp. Not just that but we put the skids on their run and I reckon they'll drop more points going into the last few games.

I know I won't convince you though. I'm just delighted that we've put down a marker for next season with this lot. It was a good day.

I still think wenger is to arrogant to deal with the failings. The game has moved in since he was a top coach and he hasn't moved with it. Inevitably he will be replaced, surely it's only a matter of time till a team goes after simonie (sp) and if it's arsenal it will be interesting to see what they have to say seeing as he is a pragmatist just like Jose. They would ideally want pep but he only goes to CL winning clubs
