Well then, where to start for this massive moment?

 

Cannot say the game made for too happy a viewing. Palace came and fought hard for it, only really coming out of their shell when we had decided that going for a second goal was worth only a minimal effort.

 

That is Jose for you though, he just wants the job done. 1-0 is enough, as so it was. Maybe the occasion got the better of some of our players. Aside from the Drog's freekick I cannot remember the Palace goaly making a save, our finishing was all over the place.

 

That said my disappointment with our overall attacking ability disappeared when we got to 80 minute mark. That is when it really started to settle in, "this is not just any game, these next 10 minutes and added on time, are what stand between us and being champions again". How fitting it was this occasion came against Crystal Palace, a side that really put an end to our challenge last season. Really only beating Aston Villa would have been more fitting from that point of view.

 

Suddenly making it 2-0, scoring more goals and winning with some swagger, become unimportant. All that matters was seeing the game out, becoming the champions. 

 

Of course around that point Palace improved and started attacking more, those sequence of corners added nerves that had not been there before. Even the normal reliable Drogba timing wasting on the ball was gone, Palace had some wind in their sales.

 

And then the ball broke in the middle and Zouma's eye's lite up. He crunched the Palace player, and the game was up then. That moment can sum up our season. That effort, that commitment, that desire. 

 

Perfect.

 

As the whistle went I felt a tear or two start to form, watching our fans and players celebrate a well earned title.

 

Well done to all our players, our manager, our owner, all the background staff who all help make this possible. And to our fans, and all my fellow blues on the shed end, we are the CHAMPIONS!

Honestly I'm just so happy, thank you so much, this is brilliant! What a day, we have the league title again we are Champions!

There is only a guard of honour by the home team if the away team is champions. So they won't do one.

There is only a guard of honour, home or away, if agreed by both clubs. Not compulsory, nice gesture to give which has in a way become traditional, but totally optional.

What did Tyler say?

 

Little digs here and there. Bringing up Roman Abramovic's money, talking about our style of football every so often. It was good that Gary Neville was there to shut him up really because if he wasn't then Tyler would have been more unbearable than usual.

 

Anyway, f**k him. He ain't gonna bring my mood down. We are champions, if people don't like it then tough sh*t.

What didn't he say! Constant spite.

E.g. camera shot of Roman, 'there's the man who writes the cheques with all the noughts on'. Diving comments and so on, not worth worrying about, but seriously it was so biased it's worthy of complaint.

Gary Neville countered everything with good grace.

I've a feeling I may be typing that a lot in coming seasons :-)

Don't worry re. the 'boring' tag; it's a media thing and most fans recognise hoe effective and efficient CFC are.
