UEFA set to relax FFP

You know what ? this has kind of pissed me off a bit. We are the one club that has been taking FFP seriously, yet in the French press we are the ones being moaned at because we can buy players and PSG can't. The reason why we can buy players is because we have balanced the books and sold players on for a good amount of money. PSG just pay a ridiculous amount of money on players ( David Luiz £50 miilion ) and give those players really high wages again and again.

Now, because of all of the moaning, UEFA are set to be more relaxed on the rule. How about you just stick to the rule ? if the football clubs can't stand by that rule then that is their problem.

As expected, FFP isn't going to work. If they change things just because a few clubs are getting annoyed then they may as well just scrap the whole thing.

Of course they are relaxing it, no surprise there, especially as theres now a French team with the ability to spend anything it wants.

This was always a bullsh*t ruling designed to hurt English clubs, because of the investment our league attracted.

Quite frankly it's a shambles.

UEFA trying to police club finances was always going to end in tears one way or the other.

But now if they do relax the rules those clubs that worked hardest to comply FFP are basically getting a big "f**k you". Yeah you did all that work but it doesn't matter any more, people are moaning it doesn't work so we're going to change it all.

They should never have introduced this in the first place but now they have they should stick to their convictions and let it play out, not give up at the first hurdle.

Exactly that lads.

I think if it does relaxed we may stick to our new found principles a bit more now, and only splurge on big players when we have to.

I honestly believe if we didn't comply with ffp they wouldn't be relaxing the rules they would have used it as a stick to beat us with. Now that we've tried balancing the books and seem to be the only club playing by the rules they don't like it

Said all along there was never anything fair about FFP, it's just a thinly veiled protectionist measure designed to protect the established elite clubs from rich interlopers.

And as it's not actually stopping Chelsea, clearly to the annoyance of some, it's time to try something else.

All that will happen is that they will relax the threat of being stopped from entering UEFA competitions and only have fines so clubs can spend what they want and corrupt UEFA can get richer.

It didnt even do anything. Actually, only Chelsea appeared to make an effort to comply. Everyone else just kept spending the same as before

That's not true though, is it ? Out of all the clubs which had to comply (and there was a large number), not many failed.

I think it's helped make Chelsea a better club actually. We are in a very strong position now, mainly due to the fact we have a strong squad and have invested in your players to sell on which makes up for our lack of capacity to a large degree. Even if they did get rid, I don't see us having to spend anything like the numbers we used to.

Which is why we were in favour of it.

Platini is such a twat.

What a Joke we were probably the only club taking this rule seriously and because they realise the rules would affect teams like barcelona/real madrid they are bottling it.

Fuxking bollox. I didn't think UEFA could become even more of a joke organisation but they've outdone theirselves. Incompetent, inconsistant, bias and corrupt. w**kers.

It hasn't really changed anything for us. We were always heading down this route regardless of FFP.

the reference to Chelsea is completely fatuous as it's only because we have our financial house in order that we can buy elite players but he does say if the Qataris were in Italy then the French would want things tightened up so it seems Platini recognises this is just grumbling

if there is a relaxation it'll not harm us in anyway but simply put even more money in the pockets of players and agents

I actually liked FFP but I acknowledged that it was inherently unfair.

As it is though we've benefited from it because we ARE established as a top team now so whatever happens we're nicely set. I just love how we've been run under the FFP rules.

They aren't getting rid of it. They will make the punishments less severe but it is still in their interest to keep the elite clubs elite and to screw the rest.
